Student answer (Band 5.0)
It is often said that tourism is the best business in the 21st century to attract not only foreighn investment but also local investment. I am agree due to heavy tourism, local cultures and environment is also ignored in this stage.
It is truely said, that government takes initiatives to bring heavy investment in the shape of foreign people. For instance, Pakistan is one of the beautiful country in this world to attract foreign people due to high peak. There are fifteen the highest peak in this world. But eight peaks is present in Pakistan. Many europeans came to Pakistan for the purpose of tourism. They do not know about the islamic culture and green enviornment. During tourism, they do not follow the Islamic culture and bad effect our local traditions. Similarly, environment is also ignored during tourism. Wastages and garbage are found in the beautiful valleys.
On the other hand, tourism attract the investments. People feel good due to increase revenue. This type of revenue fullfil to meet ends. Local gets latest knowledge and share the culture. This type of communication build the image of the country.
In short, tourism is one the fastest and lucrative industry in this world. Developing countries must be organized a pattern, in which alien people must be follow local culture and should not take any steps that damage the environment. Similarly, economies must be built on the basis of technology rather traditionally. So that people is not only depend on tourism but also on technology.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing both the economic benefits of tourism and the negative impacts on local cultures and the environment, thereby presenting a clear position. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the student mentions that Pakistan has eight of the highest peaks in the world, which is a specific example, but the explanation of how tourism negatively affects Islamic culture ('bad effect our local traditions') remains underdeveloped. While all parts of the task are addressed, the arguments lack depth and analytical expansion, which places the response securely in the Band 5.0 range.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is divided into four distinct paragraphs, showing an awareness of standard essay structure with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, the overall progression is disrupted by abrupt shifts in focus and mechanical cohesive devices. For example, 'On the other hand, tourism attract the investments' introduces a counter-argument, but the transition feels disconnected from the previous paragraph. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as 'This type of communication build the image of the country', where the pronoun reference to a preceding concept is weak. Paragraphing is present, but internal cohesion and logical transitions require improvement, aligning with Band 5.0 descriptors.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The lexical resource is limited and displays frequent errors in word choice, spelling, and collocation. Examples include 'foreighn' instead of foreign, 'enviornment' instead of environment, and 'fullfil to meet ends' instead of make ends meet. The student attempts some less common vocabulary such as 'lucrative' and 'investment', but inaccurate collocations like 'bad effect our local traditions' (using a noun where a verb is needed) and 'alien people' instead of foreigners or tourists cause noticeable strain for the reader. These persistent vocabulary limitations and inaccuracies reflect a Band 5.0 level.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but control over grammar is weak. There are frequent errors in subject-verb agreement and article usage, such as 'tourism attract the investments', 'Pakistan is one of the beautiful country', and 'people is not only depend'. Attempts at complex structures often result in noticeable errors, such as 'Developing countries must be organized a pattern, in which alien people must be follow local culture'. These frequent grammatical inaccuracies and awkward phrasings cause difficulty for the reader at times, consistent with a Band 5.0 rating.
