Student answer (Band 5.5)
In the contemporary era, tourism is considered the backbone of any country's economy and often becoming one of the most fastest growing industries around the globe. People commute from one place to another to explore the wonders of nature but it dramatically destroy our environment. Although, it has advantages in terms of ecomical boost but I think it has more negative consequences on our ecosystem.
Firstly, everyone wants to explore the splendors of nature and amazed themselve. Nature has healing power people commute from one place to another to explore it and in return it is the best and easiest way of earning money. For example, In northern areas of Pakistan are famous for their beauty and people visits to explore these area, the solo source of income for local people is the toursim because they get revenue by providing shelter and food. However, these activities helpful in driven of the economy but it drastically destroy our environment.
On the other hand, while visiting these areas people often carries large plastic bags, snacks and spit the litter in these places which not only destroys the natural beauty but also leads towards land pollution. Moreover, as tourism growing the petrochemicals consumption also enhanced which leads to serious environmental challenges. For instance, as toursim rises, Pakistan stood first in the most afftected countries from global warming, catastrophic floods hits everyyear and we lost precious lives, and livestock.
Overall, tourism becoming major industry but should be prime duty of everyone to play their role to preseve environment for upcoming offsprings.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The student addresses the prompt by discussing the economic benefits of tourism against its environmental and cultural drawbacks, presenting a clear position that negative consequences outweigh the positives. Main ideas are present, such as economic dependency in northern Pakistan and environmental degradation caused by litter and global warming. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited and occasionally repetitive. For instance, the discussion on global warming and floods in Pakistan touches upon relevant real-world issues, but the supporting arguments could be extended further. The response satisfies the requirements of the task adequately, aligning well with the descriptors for a Band 6.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The response exhibits a coherent overall arrangement with clear attempts at paragraphing, separating the introduction, body paragraphs addressing different aspects, and a brief conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'On the other hand', and 'Moreover' are utilised to structure the essay. However, cohesion is at times faulty and mechanical. For example, sentences like 'Nature has healing power people commute from one place to another to explore it' suffer from run-on issues and poor transitions. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, such as pronoun usage in 'these activities helpful in driven of the economy'. Paragraphing is present, but internal cohesion requires smoother transitions, making Band 5.5 a suitable assessment.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common items such as 'contemporary era', 'petrochemicals consumption', and 'catastrophic floods'. However, there are noticeable lexical inaccuracies and word-choice errors throughout the text, including 'ecomical boost' instead of 'economic boost', 'toursim' spelling errors, and 'spit the litter' instead of 'drop litter'. Collocations are sometimes unnatural, as seen in 'petrochemicals consumption also enhanced'. While communication is not severely impeded, these recurring inaccuracies restrict the score to a Band 5.5 under the official descriptors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay displays a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, though attempts at complex structures frequently contain grammatical errors. Examples of structural issues include 'tourism is considered... and often becoming', 'In northern areas of Pakistan are famous', and 'these activities helpful in driven of the economy'. Punctuation and verb tense consistency are also problematic in sentences like 'Pakistan stood first in the most afftected countries from global warming, catastrophic floods hits everyyear'. Frequent errors in grammar and word forms cause some difficulty for the reader at times, placing this performance firmly at Band 5.0.
