Student answer (Band 6.0)
Everyone love traveling around the world, that is one of the reasons, tourism grows significantly and made a profound impact on country's economy. Nevertheless, the negative effect of damage tourism on country's culture and environment is often ignored. In my opinion, I agree with this statement because some countries experirence serious envrionmental problem and it's culture gradually loose it's meaning and value.
I believe, the more beautiful attractions and opportunities do a country have, the more tourist will visit and this contribute country's economy positively. However, this will cause overpopulation over time because mostly foreigner choose to travel to a country that offers different natural attractions and plenty of opportunities. As a result, some foreigner choose to stay and work. From this, local communities often experience environmetal problems such as pollution that could affect significantly on people's health. For example, Cebu City, one of the city in Philippines experience a significant increase in population. As this city is known for beutiful places and work oppportunities and at some point has lesser cost of living compared to other country. So foreigner choose to stay, work and run a business in the place. From this, the place became more busy and polluted where many people choose to wear mask when going outside and stay at home as possible but local authorities or government failed to provide better solution to combat the problem.
On the other hand, the culture itself tend to loose it's value because some local authorities tend to focus more on developing infrasracture and put emphasis on attractions as this can gained potentail tourist for the country's economy. From this, many culture and history gradually loose their meaning and value as foreigner tend to focus more on experience the developed places and activities that country has. For example, in Philippines many traditional places change into modern design because it's more attracting to foreignser. I believe there's nothing wrong about developing to make the place better, it's also ideal to preserve the culture and history because this what made the country unique and special.
In counclusion, it is true that toursim contribuetes positively to the society but some negative effects on it to community is often ignored. As many people experience serious environmental problems and loose the meaing of it's culture.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, taking a clear position that agrees with the statement regarding the negative impacts of tourism on culture and the environment. Ideas are extended and supported with relevant examples, such as the mention of Cebu City and the cultural shifts in the Philippines. However, there is a tendency to over-generalise in parts, and some arguments are slightly repetitive, which keeps the response at Band 6.0. The writer presents a clear overall position throughout the essay, fulfilling the basic requirements of Task Achievement well, though the depth of development could be more fully articulated to reach higher band levels.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay has a coherent overall arrangement and is divided into appropriate paragraphs, including an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Nevertheless', 'However', and 'On the other hand', but referencing and linking are sometimes faulty or mechanical. For instance, the transition between sentences can feel abrupt, and phrasing like 'From this' is overused to introduce results. Paragraphing is used sufficiently, but overall logical progression can occasionally feel slightly disjointed due to grammatical friction and repetitive transitions.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common items such as 'overpopulation', 'infrastracture' (spelling error), and 'potential'. However, there are noticeable word-choice and spelling errors throughout the text, including 'experirence', 'envrionmental', 'beutiful', 'toursim', and 'contribuetes'. While these errors do not severely impede communication, they reflect a lack of precision and lexical control typical of a Band 5.5 or 6.0 performance. The range is sufficient to convey the main arguments, but inaccurate spelling and collocation prevent it from achieving a higher score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The writer uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting ambitious structures like conditional and relative clauses ('the more beautiful attractions and opportunities do a country have, the more tourist will visit'). However, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('Everyone love', 'tourism grows... and made'), incorrect verb tenses, punctuation errors, and missing articles ('a country's economy', 'it's culture', 'loose it's meaning'). These errors occasionally cause difficulty for the reader and demonstrate inconsistent control over complex grammatical structures.
