Student answer (Band 6.5)
It is argued that the tourism plays a crucial role for economic development of the countries around the world as it is one of the most rapid growing industries .However, the damage caused by tourism in the environment and local traditions is often ignored. I agree that although tourism brings significant economic benefits, its harmful effects are often overlooked.
To begin with, Tourism can change local culture and make people forget their traditions. To attract tourist people often change their life styles, language, culture and they tend to follow their traditions and cultures. For example, in popular tourist area local people may adopt foreign languages and life styles to communicate with visitors and earn money. Consequently, younger generations may become less intrested in their own traditions and costumes.
In addition to this, increased torurism can lead to various environmental problems. Large number of tourists often cause excess traffic in many areas also it can generate excessive waste and pollution. For example, popular beaches and national parks may become littered with plastic bottles and food packaging ,harming wildlife and ecosystems. However this problems are often ignored by government because government and business focus more on income, jobs and economic growth driven by increased tourism. Furthermore, many people care about immediate profits than long-term environmenal or cultural damage .Therefore environmental and cultural problems recieves less attention.
In conclusion, while tourism contributes a lot for the economic development of the countries, its harmful effect like completely changing traditions and various environmental proble and destruction of natural resource are often ignored because people only focus on profit, develpment and employment opportunities. Hence I strongly agree with the view that the consequences of tourism receives less attention.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The student addresses all parts of the task by presenting a clear position and acknowledging both the economic contributions and the negative impacts of tourism on local cultures and the environment. The position is maintained throughout the response, including in the introduction and conclusion. Main ideas are supported with relevant examples, such as popular tourist areas where local people adopt foreign languages and lifestyles, and beaches littered with plastic bottles. However, some ideas tend to generalise or are slightly repetitive in the body paragraphs and conclusion, which prevents the response from reaching the highest band levels. Overall, the task response is fully developed and clearly addresses the prompt requirements.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organised with a clear progression from introduction to body paragraphs and a final conclusion. Each paragraph has a clear central topic, such as cultural changes in the second paragraph and environmental issues in the third. Cohesive devices are used to link ideas, such as "To begin with," "In addition to this," and "Consequently." However, some cohesion is slightly mechanical, and referencing is occasionally affected by minor mechanical slips, such as "However this problems" where punctuation is missing. Paragraphing is used appropriately to structure the argument, contributing to an overall coherent arrangement that is easy to follow.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items such as "economic development," "environmental problems," "ecosystems," and "employment opportunities." However, there are some spelling and word-choice errors, such as "intrested" instead of interested, "torurism" instead of tourism, and "costumes" instead of customs. Collocations are generally functional, but phrases like "rapid growing industries" (rapidly growing) show occasional inaccuracies. Despite these errors, the vocabulary is sufficient to convey the intended meaning without impeding communication.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The writer uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, incorporating subordinating clauses like "It is argued that..." and "while tourism contributes a lot...". There are instances of good grammatical control, but also several errors in punctuation, spacing, and agreement, such as "the tourism plays," "excess traffic in many areas also it can generate," and "this problems... recieves." Article usage is occasionally missing, as seen in "harming wildlife and ecosystems." While these errors occur across the text, they rarely impede communication, placing the response solidly in the band 6 range.
