Student answer (Band 4.5)
Tourism plays a significance role to enchance the image of any country positively. It also contributed economically for a country. There are many countries in the world which earn and their economy mostly depends on Tourism. In today's modern world, Tourism is fastest growing industry and the role of media is very important in it. Government should invest more on Tourism such as by building hotels for tourists, saety measures, roads and security. on the other side, there are some negative points which can cause by tourism. such as potraying and not respecting the local norm and culture of local areas. for example when peoplego to northern areas of Pakistan like Chilas, Skardu, Gilgit etc. People unable to accept their norms and traditions because these are new for them. The ways of mourning over death of someone in chilas culture is totally different from Punjab and other areas of Pakistan. The Deforestation is also destroying the natural beauty of Feary Meadows in Pakistan. Because local people say that this is their territory and they can do whatever they want. So, they cut trees to make hotels for earning money from foriegners. TheTourists also destroy the beauty of these places by spreading their bins, snacks rappers, pampers at the Edge of lakes etc.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response presents some relevant ideas regarding both the economic benefits of tourism and the negative impacts on local cultures and the environment, such as cultural disrespect and deforestation in regions like Fairy Meadows. However, the position is not always clearly sustained, and the ideas remain somewhat under-developed due to the lack of a proper introduction and conclusion. Furthermore, a major limitation is the word count: the response contains only 212 words, which falls short of the mandatory 250-word minimum. This under-length restriction directly impacts task fulfillment, as the arguments cannot be fully extended. Therefore, this criterion is constrained at Band 5.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0
The text suffers significantly from structural issues. The entire response consists of one single, dense block of text with no paragraph breaks to separate the introduction, the economic arguments, the negative impacts, and the examples. This lack of paragraphing makes it difficult to follow the progression of ideas. While some basic cohesive devices are used (such as 'on the other side' and 'for example'), referencing is occasionally unclear, and the overall arrangement lacks logical coherence. Consequently, the essay meets the criteria for Band 4.0 in this area.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The student demonstrates an adequate vocabulary for the task, successfully using terms such as 'economy', 'infrastructure', 'traditions', and 'deforestation'. However, there are numerous lexical and word formation errors, such as 'significance' instead of 'significant', 'enchance' instead of 'enhance', 'potraying' instead of 'portraying', and 'foriegners' instead of 'foreigners'. There are also awkward collocations like 'spreading their bins'. These errors, combined with noticeable spelling mistakes, restrict the lexical score to Band 5.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0
The essay displays a very limited range of sentence structures, relying primarily on simple sentences and occasional faulty attempts at complex clauses (e.g., 'People unable to accept their norms...'). There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including missing auxiliary verbs ('People unable to accept'), incorrect preposition usage ('invest more on Tourism'), and capitalization errors. Punctuation is also poorly managed, with run-on sentences and incorrect capitalisation in the middle of sentences. These frequent errors cause difficulty for the reader and place the performance at Band 4.0.
