Student answer (Band 5.0)
It is often argue that the tourism is the only rapidly growing industries in many countries and it also impacts on a economy around world.I completely agreed with this statement and in this essay i will discuss my reasons in the following paragraphs.
The main reason to follow my point of view is that tourism brings many substantial benefits for example like in Pakistan tourism has grown day by day and their is huge demand for it.For instance, in weekends their are many families which are busy in weekdays but on weekends they go somewhere where they can relax and spent their crucial time such as in murree many peers like to come on during winters because it has a great weather in that season like clouds, snowfall, rainy seaon and so on.Therefore, it brings a substantial benefits which can positively influence individuals and society as a whole.
Another significant reason is that tourism can also help economy of an country for example it can generate a huge tax where peoples can pay and it directly go to the pocket of government so with the help of this they can return debates of other countries and brigs many benefits. In contrast it also brings environmental damage because peoples are not aware that they through plastic bags everywhere as a result this leads to pollution and this side is almost ignored.Another thing is that they can also damaged the local culture which is not a good sign. Moreover it brings many advantages but also harmful for us.
In conclusion, although tourism presents clear goods but it is equally to consider associated risks. My personal opinion is that gonvernment needs to control the pollution by placing waste bags in different areas so it can be controlled before time gone.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The student addresses the prompt by expressing a clear position of complete agreement and attempts to discuss both the benefits and the negative impacts of tourism. However, the development of ideas remains superficial. For instance, in the second paragraph, the discussion of domestic tourism in Pakistan and specific spots like Murree is overly anecdotal and lacks clear connection to the broader economic or cultural themes of the prompt. Furthermore, the counter-arguments regarding environmental damage and cultural erosion in the third paragraph are rushed and underdeveloped. While all parts of the task are touched upon, the reasoning lacks depth and extension. Therefore, this performance fits the Band 5.0 descriptors, where ideas are limited and under-developed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The essay displays a basic overall organisation with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, paragraphing is somewhat problematic; the third paragraph awkwardly attempts to combine economic benefits, environmental damage, and cultural impacts into a single, dense block of text without clear logical division. Cohesive devices are frequently repetitive and inaccurate, such as 'The main reason to follow my point of view is', 'Another significant reason is', and 'In contrast it also brings'. Furthermore, referencing is unclear at times, as seen in the phrase 'so with the help of this they can return debates of other countries'. Overall cohesion is mechanical and faulty, aligning well with the Band 5 descriptors.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The student uses a limited and occasionally repetitive vocabulary, with frequent errors in word choice, collocation, and word formation. Examples of noticeable errors include 'It is often argue that the tourism is the only rapidly growing industries', 'economy of an country', 'peoples are not aware that they through plastic bags', and 'return debates of other countries'. There are attempts to use less common vocabulary like 'substantial benefits' and 'environmental damage', but these are offset by persistent basic lexical errors that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. This falls squarely within the Band 5.0 descriptor range, reflecting a limited but minimally adequate range with noticeable lexical errors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but control over grammar and punctuation is weak. The text contains frequent errors, such as missing articles ('the tourism is the only rapidly growing industries'), subject-verb agreement issues ('their are many families', 'peoples are not aware'), tense inconsistencies, and run-on sentences with poor punctuation ('In contrast it also brings environmental damage because peoples are not aware that they through plastic bags everywhere as a result this leads to pollution and this side is almost ignored'). Attempts at complex structures are frequently faulty and can cause strain for the reader. This performance aligns best with Band 5.0, where frequent errors persist and complex attempts are often inaccurate.
