Student answer (Band 5.5)
Tourism plays a povital role globally, and it is one of the extremely profitable industry and provided a great range of benefit economicaly around the world. However, it is agrud that the impacts of tourism affects locally and also the damage of envivronment cannot fully ignored. Consequently, I agree that tourism has numerous benefits, yet healthy enivronment is also particularly crucial.
To begin with, tourism has greater adavantages worldwide, because it gathers a huge proportion of audience. Therefore, tourism is becoming the fastest rising industries. As a result, tourism offers cultural, social and economic benefits. Moreover, tourism gives an oppourtunities to explore public to try different cultures. For example. a huge number of people travel to explore different surroundings to escape their daily schedule, they apperciated to try different cusines. Due to these reasons, authorities also provides trevel guides and websites, which can help people about the places, restaurants and the best routes.
However, there are several disadvantages of tourism, and one of the damage environment. People come from differnet cultures to explore something new, but many of time they disapponted. For instance, some people faces harasment, poor tour guide and health issues. Furthermore, many tourists also takes part in evironment damage, they threw their food wastage on roads and the points they visited.
In conclusion, although tourism is fastest increasing industry, still the damages cannot fully replaced. As far as i am concerned, both arguments are valid, yet it is not negliglble. Government and society should be responsible, hence authorities should provide proper guide for travelers.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The student addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing the economic and cultural benefits of tourism alongside the negative impacts on local environments and cultures. A clear position is established early in the response and maintained through to the conclusion, stating that while tourism provides numerous benefits, environmental and local preservation is also crucial. Ideas are presented and supported with examples, such as exploring different surroundings, trying varied cuisines, and experiencing issues like harassment or poor tour guides. However, some arguments tend to be repetitive and lack deeper analytical extension. For instance, the discussion regarding environmental damage is somewhat generalized by simply stating that tourists throw food waste on roads. Despite these minor limitations in development, the task has been adequately addressed to meet the Band 6 descriptor criteria.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The essay demonstrates a clear overall arrangement with the use of standard paragraphing conventions, including an introduction, two body paragraphs representing opposing views, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'However', 'For example', and 'In conclusion' are employed to signal transitions and structure the text. Nevertheless, referencing and logical progression are sometimes faulty or mechanical. For example, the sentence 'People come from differnet cultures to explore something new, but many of time they disapponted' features abrupt transitions in thought. Furthermore, the final paragraph contains unclear phrasing such as 'still the damages cannot fully replaced', which disrupts the logical flow. Overall, the organizational structure is coherent enough to merit a Band 5.5 score, reflecting frequent mechanical cohesion and occasional lapses in logical progression.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The student attempts a range of vocabulary suitable for the topic, incorporating terms such as 'profitable industry', 'cultural, social and economic benefits', and 'tourist guides'. However, the vocabulary is marred by frequent spelling errors, incorrect word forms, and flawed collocations. Examples include 'povital' instead of pivotal, 'economicaly' instead of economically, 'agrud' instead of argued, 'envivronment' instead of environment, 'oppourtunities' instead of opportunities, 'apperciated' instead of appreciated, 'cusines' instead of cuisines, 'trevel' instead of travel, 'differnet' instead of different, 'disapponted' instead of disappointed, 'harasment' instead of harassment, 'evironment' instead of environment, and 'negliglble' instead of negligible. These frequent lexical and orthographic errors noticeably strain the reader and impede communication at times, firmly placing this performance at Band 5.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response shows a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating attempts at subordinate clauses and relative structures, such as in sentences containing 'which can help people about the places'. However, grammatical accuracy is weak throughout the text, featuring frequent errors in verb forms, subject-verb agreement, and prepositions. Examples include 'it is one of the extremely profitable industry and provided a great range' where pluralisation and tense consistency fail, 'the impacts of tourism affects' with a subject-verb agreement error, 'many of time they disapponted' showing missing verbs, 'some people faces' with a third-person singular error, 'many tourists also takes part in evironment damage', 'they threw their food wastage', and 'authorities also provides'. These recurring structural and tense errors cause difficulty for the reader and prevent the response from achieving a higher score.
