Student answer (Band 5.0)
Tourism is one of the velocious boomin industries and shared a better deal to financial stability around throughout the global, although, the harm which tourism can attributed to local cultures and the environment is frequently neglected. This essay will explore various perspectives and in my opinicen, I totally agree with it these sentence and tourism should have be stop at sacred and holy place where several pollution are been situated.
One of the primary reasons is pollutions which is cause by traveller to the wooded mountains and forested peaks. A plethora of visitors think that it is normal to detriment of trees and litter in the seas or lakes, but there should be strict action against such travellers. Many sightseer tuys to mieve the prohibited area or restricted zone, a huge penalty should be governed by legislation to the tourist which also a significant aspects. For Instance, a tourist invaded the sacred temple at night which should be prohibited.
Another significant reason is Overtourism, excessive numbers of visitors, crowd historical sites and strain local water and waste systems. A huge traffic congestion faced by local communities and become overloaded by sightseers. In addition, environmental damage cause by overtourism where destruction of natural habitats or wildlife takes place. Moreover, popular areas often see steep rises in rent and food prices, making it hard for local residents to live their to reduce such situation, governments often build better roads, public transport and facilities to support visitors, which also helps locals.
In conclusion, overtourism can cause pollution, environmental damage, and loss of culture, which leads to strict action by the policymakers. Travellers should not be allowed to visit sacred or prohibited area.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing the damage tourism causes to local cultures and the environment, taking a clear position of agreement. The writer attempts to explore various reasons such as pollution, overtourism, and cultural impact. However, the development of ideas is limited and sometimes superficial, such as the sudden mention of sacred and holy places or government infrastructure solutions that contradict the premise of total agreement. While the main stance is clear, the arguments lack full extension and suffer from abrupt shifts in focus, which aligns the response with a Band 5.5 to 6.0 profile. We will award a Band 5.5 because several ideas are under-developed or tangential, such as the specific example of a tourist invading a temple at night without broader integration into the argument.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The essay is organized into distinct paragraphs, attempting an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, the logical progression is frequently disrupted by awkward transitions and confusing sentence structures. For instance, moving from general pollution to strict legislative actions and then abruptly to overtourism creates a disjointed flow. Cohesive devices are sometimes mechanical or misused, as seen in phrases like 'In addition, environmental damage cause by overtourism where destruction...'. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, such as 'which also a significant aspects'. Paragraphing is present, but internal cohesion fails to guide the reader smoothly from one idea to the next, placing this response solidly within the Band 5.0 range.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used demonstrates a limited and basic range with significant inaccuracies in word choice, collocation, and form. The student attempts less common vocabulary, but this frequently results in errors that impede communication, such as 'velocious boomin industries', 'in my opinicen', 'detriment of trees' instead of 'detriment to trees', and 'tuys to mieve' (tries to move/navigate). Words are often used with incorrect grammatical forms, such as 'pollutions which is cause by traveller'. While there is an attempt to use topical vocabulary like 'overtourism' and 'environmental damage', the high frequency of word-formation and spelling errors limits the score to Band 4.5 or 5.0. A Band 5.0 is appropriate as the range is minimally adequate for the task despite the noticeable errors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but grammatical accuracy is very low throughout the text. There are frequent, heavy errors in subject-verb agreement, tense consistency, and clause structures. Examples include 'shared a better deal', 'tourism should have be stop', 'several pollution are been situated', and 'environmental damage cause by overtourism where destruction...'. Punctuation is also poorly controlled, leading to run-on sentences and comma splices. The high density of foundational grammatical errors means that error-free sentences are rare, causing considerable difficulty for the reader. This performance aligns closely with the Band 4.5 descriptors, where errors are frequent and often distort meaning.
