Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5
Your response is severely restricted by length, falling well short of the minimum two hundred and fifty-word requirement, which heavily limits how much of the task you can cover. Although you state that you strongly agree with the prompt, the ideas presented are very limited, repetitive, and under-developed. For instance, while you touch upon tourists visiting countries and learning languages, you do not adequately explain or provide relevant examples regarding how tourism damages local cultures and the environment, which is a major part of the prompt. To reach a higher level, you must write a much longer response that fully explores all parts of the question with well-supported arguments.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
Your writing shows some basic organisation, such as attempting to introduce your points with transitional words like 'Initially' and 'Also'. However, there is no clear overall progression of ideas, and the logical connection between sentences is frequently broken. For example, moving abruptly from tourists learning foreign languages to the statement that 'the tourist visits other country their economy will rise' lacks cohesive flow. Furthermore, your paragraphing is incomplete and rudimentary. To improve cohesion, you need to use clear referencing, ensure logical transitions between ideas, and structure your essay into distinct, well-developed paragraphs that guide the reader smoothly through your arguments.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use a basic and repetitive range of vocabulary that is minimally adequate to convey your general stance, but noticeable errors significantly impede communication. There are spelling mistakes such as 'toursim' and 'enviornment', as well as word choice and collocation issues like 'include a great deal to economies' instead of 'contribute a great deal'. To improve your lexical score, you need to broaden your vocabulary, use less common terms accurately, and pay close attention to spelling and word forms. Using appropriate collocations related to tourism and economics will also help elevate the precision of your writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You demonstrate a very limited range of structures, relying mostly on simple sentences with frequent errors in basic grammar. There are notable issues with verb tenses and forms, such as writing 'tourism is one the fastest growing industries' and 'Tourist went to several countries for visit', which lack correct prepositions, articles, and subject-verb agreement. Additionally, your attempt at a complex conditional or result clause at the end—'the tourist visits other country their economy will rise'—is grammatically faulty and lacks proper linking words. To achieve a higher band, you must increase your grammatical accuracy, use articles and plurals correctly, and demonstrate control over a wider variety of complex sentence forms.
