Student answer (Band 5.5)

In recent year , the tourism is rapid growing industy and also show great contribustion in increasing countries economy around the world . but with these many damge is caused to cultures , heritages and eniviroment are ingrored . I partical agree and disagree with this essay.

On the one hand, i believe that increasing tourism is benefiets the increase in country economy and aslo create a good image between other countries. Its also help people to know about their history of other places and explore differnt food, languages, people behaviour, their life style . For example , if people explore or visit our countries they share their experiense who there people welcome them also explore local markets, shops vender which increase the sell of people.

On the other hand, totally agree with the statement the damage tourism is causing to the property and enviroment is totally ignored by the government and their local individuals. As they are causing harm to historical places. For example, with most historical place people visit there often, due to many local shops, street vandories and small eating countries establised there which decrease the beauty ofg that particular place, many places are changed into hotels due to this they lost their importance and people sometime create a mess which decrease the value .

In conclusion, Government should stop them to change the histroical places into hotels, and should order the seller to set there market at some distance so that the beauty of that place enhance and if any damge is done by someone should be fined, so later that money is used in development or cover that damge.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses the task only partially, presenting a position that is somewhat unclear as the writer states they 'partical agree and disagree' without establishing a clear overarching stance on the issue. While some relevant ideas regarding economic benefits and environmental damage are introduced, they remain limited and under-developed. For instance, the discussion on economic advantages touches on cultural exchange and local spending, such as 'explore local markets, shops vender which increase the sell of people,' but lacks full expansion or specific real-world examples. Similarly, the points regarding environmental and cultural degradation lack adequate support and clarity, preventing the response from achieving a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The text demonstrates some basic organization with clear paragraph breaks separating the introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion. However, there is no clear overall progression of ideas, and the logical flow is frequently hindered by mechanical and inaccurate use of cohesive devices. Transitions between sentences and ideas feel abrupt, such as the sudden shift from economic benefits to environmental degradation without a smooth transitional link. Furthermore, referencing is sometimes unclear, particularly with pronouns like 'them' in the conclusion referring back to ambiguous subjects. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion within paragraphs requires much stronger organizational links to guide the reader effectively.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary range is limited and minimally adequate for addressing the prompt. The student attempts to use less common items, such as 'contribustion,' 'industy,' and 'eniviroment,' but these instances contain noticeable spelling and word formation errors that can cause some difficulty for the reader. There are frequent issues with word choice, collocation, and word forms across the text, such as 'street vandories' instead of vendors, 'eating countries' instead of establishments, and 'damge' instead of damage. These lexical inaccuracies prevent the response from demonstrating the precision and flexibility required for higher bands.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response displays a very limited range of sentence structures, relying primarily on simple patterns or faulty attempts at complex sentences. There are frequent grammatical errors in almost every sentence, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('the tourism is rapid growing'), articles ('in increasing countries economy'), verb tenses, and prepositions within grammatical patterns. Punctuation errors, such as spaces before commas and periods, are also prevalent. These frequent errors cause considerable strain and difficulty for the reader, keeping the grammatical score at this level.
