Student answer (Band 5.0)
Nowadays, tourism is the rapid growing industry around the globe. However, it is also believe that tourism damage the local culture and environment of other countries. I partly agree with this statement and discuss its reasons as well as relevant examples in the upcoming paragraphs.
On the one hand, tourism helps to grow the economy of country. For instance, if tourist come to explore other country then they will spend their money on food, accommodation as well as on the places where they will go. They also know about the culture of that country then they recommend others to visit that place. In addition to this, the circle maintains and economy will grow in such manner.
On the other hand, it also have some drawbacks that visitors do not know about the culture of another country. They can disrespect or might cause to the respect of local people. Moreover, it is difficult to manage many people in a country if they want to live for several days or months they need good accommodation in order to this, people will do deforestation and build hotels and houses. It may cause damage to environment like increase in global warming.
To conclude, although it is important for a country to have tourist yet they have to manage the tourism as well that they might not cause any damage to local people and environment.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response addresses the task only partially, and the student's position is not always clearly articulated throughout the essay. While the introduction states a partial agreement, the body paragraphs struggle to fully develop these ideas. For instance, the economic benefits of tourism are mentioned superficially, such as tourists spending money on food and accommodation, but these ideas remain limited and under-developed without specific examples or elaboration. Furthermore, the length requirement has not been met, as the response falls short of the minimum two hundred and fifty words, further restricting the depth of exploration required for a higher band. To improve, the student needs to fully develop all parts of the prompt with extended, well-supported arguments and ensure the word count requirement is satisfied.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
There is some basic organization with discernible introduction, body, and concluding paragraphs, but the essay lacks an overall clear progression. Cohesive devices are sometimes inadequate, inaccurate, or repetitive, such as the frequent reliance on transitional phrases like 'On the one hand' and 'On the other hand' without smooth conceptual links between sentences. For example, the sentence 'in order to this, people will do deforestation' demonstrates faulty referencing and abrupt logical transitions that impede the flow of ideas. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion within the paragraphs is weak, meaning ideas do not build upon one another logically. To achieve a higher band, the student should ensure that cohesive devices are used more accurately and flexibly, and that each paragraph contains a clear, progressive development of ideas.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The lexical resource used in this response is limited but minimally adequate to convey the basic message. The student attempts some less common vocabulary, such as 'deforestation' and 'accommodation', but also displays noticeable errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'rapid growing industry' instead of 'rapidly growing industry' and 'cause to the respect' instead of 'disrespect' or 'damage the reputation'. Spelling and word formation errors occasionally surface, which can cause some difficulty for the reader. To improve lexical resource, the student should expand their range of vocabulary and practice accurate word forms and collocations rather than relying on basic, repetitive terms or incorrect lexical phrases.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response demonstrates a very limited range of structures, relying mostly on simple sentences and basic complex forms. Attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty, such as 'it is also believe that tourism damage' where passive voice and subject-verb agreement are mishandled. There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including tense inconsistencies, missing plural markers, and incorrect prepositions inside grammatical patterns, such as 'spend their money on food, accommodation as well as on the places'. These frequent errors can cause difficulty for the reader. To reach the next band, the student must incorporate a wider variety of complex sentence structures and improve the overall accuracy of verb forms, articles, and agreement.
