Student answer (Band 5.0)

Tourism is worldwide one of the top growing industries and contributes a great number of economies .Mainwhile, some people argue that it can cause local cultures and enviornment is often ignored.I belive that i partially agree with that because of many people/tourist not have idea about how to take care wild life.

on the first hand, many of tourist make groups and make food plan like lunch and breakfast etc, thay have not any knowladge about cleanliness effects on wild life. they put raps and polybag behind different places. which are very dangerious for enviornment as well as species. for instence a faimly tour go to northen area and they eat different items like salanty, lays and nimko. after that they not put the raps in dustbin and left behind it. after that is any wild animal eat the rap that will very harmfull may cause his death issue but people not take it seriously.

on the other hand, some of those they go for camping as a tourist and live 5-6 days. after that they definetely burn woods for cooking foor. whish is not enviornment friendly so these things automaticaly effects local culture due to create in enviornment disturbance and cleanliness. for exemple. in chitral they have their own culture in which different klashi womens dancing their own way according to their culture. while some punjabi reached there and take photos and make some videos whichh is disturbing for those womens. this is the main reason behind the and that is realy ignored by governments and peoples.

in conclusion, i am agree with this. people need to avoid creating pollution in clean enviorment of tourest places and dont make any mess in their culture. if you realy want to enjoy the culture you can read before rules and regulation and take idea before visiting.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt partially, presenting a position that tourism has negative impacts on cultures and the environment. While the writer attempts to support this viewpoint, the ideas remain limited and under-developed. For example, the argument regarding wildlife and plastic wrappers is repetitive and relies on simplistic reasoning rather than well-extended points. Similarly, the cultural example concerning visitors taking photos in Chitral lacks sufficient depth to fully explore how tourism affects local traditions. To move to a higher level, the writer needs to present fully developed ideas with relevant, well-supported explanations that directly answer all parts of the task prompt.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

There is some organisation in the essay, as it is divided into a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, there is no clear overall progression of ideas throughout the response. Cohesive devices are used awkwardly or inaccurately, such as the mechanical and incorrect transitions 'Mainwhile', 'on the first hand', and 'on the other hand'. Furthermore, referencing and paragraphing lack seamless logical flow; sentences within paragraphs are strung together loosely rather than linked by clear logical relationships. To improve, the writer should use a wider variety of cohesive devices more accurately and ensure that each paragraph builds logically upon the previous one to guide the reader smoothly through the argument.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The vocabulary used is limited and minimally adequate for the task, with noticeable errors that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. There are frequent spelling errors, such as 'Mainwhile', 'enviornment', 'knowladge', 'dangerious', 'faimly', 'northen', 'salanty', 'foor', 'whish', 'automaticaly', 'womens', and 'tourest'. Additionally, word choices and word forms are often awkward or incorrect, as seen in phrases like 'top growing industries', 'contributes a great number of economies', and 'death issue'. To achieve a higher score, the writer must expand their lexical range beyond basic terms, demonstrate better control over word formation, and eliminate spelling mistakes that detract from the overall quality of the writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The writer demonstrates a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying primarily on simple sentences alongside poorly controlled attempts at complex clauses. Frequent grammatical errors occur throughout the text, including issues with subject-verb agreement, articles, plurals, and prepositions inside grammatical patterns. Examples of these errors include 'because of many people/tourist not have idea', 'many of tourist make groups', 'they have not any knowladge', 'a faimly tour go', and 'i am agree with this'. These frequent errors often cause difficulty for the reader. To progress, the writer needs to incorporate a wider variety of complex sentence forms with accurate punctuation and reduce basic grammatical mistakes.
