Student answer (Band 5.5)
In the recent times, Travelling is becoming the habit of ellite class people and also it is very interesting to travel to most parts of the world or to explore the beauty of world. Due to this tourism is becoming the fastest growing industries in the world and also increasing the economy of one's country. But nobody is paying attention towards the damage which is caused by the tourists to the local cultures and the environment.
I totally agreed with the statement and there are several reasons for that. Tourism is becoming the fastest growing industry in the world due to the increase in the worlds' economy. However it also takes some disadvanges with it and no one is talking about the harm or damage that tourist provide to the local culture and the population also.
The main reason is that Tourist from different regions of the world travel to come to Pakistan also brings their cultures and traditions with them and the local population see them and trying to adapt the culture from them. As there were individuals who are not educated enough so they adapt the tourist culture which is not beneficial for them.
The other reason which caused damage to the environment is that the tourists who come to the tourism places do not give attention towards the wrappers to be thrown in the dustbin. These wrappers and all the waste stuff can be the cause of environmental pollution. Most of the tourism places were banned due to this careless behaviour which is shown by bthe tourists.
In conclusion, I want to say that the tourism industry should keep an eye on these factors which are ignored and cause environmental and cultural damage due to tourists careless activities.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear: you agree that tourism can harm local cultures and the environment, and you give a separate reason for each. The examples about visitors bringing customs to Pakistan and litter at tourist sites are relevant to the question. However, the cultural impact is explained mainly as local people copying tourists, without showing how this affects traditions or giving a specific example; the environmental point also needs more explanation of the scale or consequences of the pollution. The opening repeats the prompt’s general claims rather than establishing a more precise argument. To develop the response further, explain each cause-and-effect link and support it with a concrete example, while keeping your position clear throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs addressing different harms, and a conclusion. This helps the reader follow the main points, and phrases such as “The main reason” and “The other reason” signal the shift between them. However, progression within paragraphs is limited, and the repeated use of “due to” and “also” makes connections feel mechanical. Some references are unclear, particularly “these factors,” which does not specify the problems the tourism industry should address. The conclusion largely restates the introduction rather than drawing the two arguments together. Use clearer links between claims and explanations, and make pronouns and summary references precise.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “local cultures,” “environmental pollution,” “traditions,” and “careless behaviour.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive, which sometimes makes the meaning less natural. For example, “the damage that tourist provide” is not an appropriate expression, and “wrappers to be thrown in the dustbin” is awkwardly phrased. Spelling errors such as “ellite,” “disadvanges,” and “bthe” also reduce accuracy. Aim to use more precise phrases for cultural change and environmental harm, and check spelling and collocations during revision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a cause-and-effect structure in “These wrappers and all the waste stuff can be the cause of environmental pollution.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and frequent errors sometimes make the reader work to understand the intended meaning. For example, “Tourist from different regions … also brings their cultures” has problems with number and subject–verb agreement, while “the local population see them and trying to adapt” mixes verb forms. Articles, plurals, and sentence boundaries also need attention, as in “the fastest growing industries.” Practise building accurate sentences with one clear subject and consistent verb forms before adding clauses.
