Student answer (Band 5.5)
While tourism plays a major role in todays economy of the countries where some people argue that it cause damage to local culture while other oppose this, for me i am in the favour of ones who oppose the statment about damage where there are some but i feel such effects can be controlled which i will try to outline in the bellows paragraphs.
To begin with the economical impact of tourism which is clear in todays world-alot of countries investing alot in their tourism industry where they belive and its contributing to major part of their GDP while there are few downsides it may have on local culture for example every country has its own beliefs and norms which could be compromised at some positions at some extent or we can say about dress codes as it differs in various parts of the countries where i feel responsibilities come on tourist shoulder to respect the values of contry he or she is visiting.
on the other hand, tourism play an undeniable role in country growth by promoting the local business sector which creates more job opportunities for the people of that country.some industries like hotels, resturants, tour guides and transpoters are directly having impact from tourism which helps in generating more option for the people to earn a handsome revenue.
moving ahead lets take an example of UAE,singapore or thailand which are attractive destination for tourists, every year a huge number of people visiting such countries to spend their quality time and these coutries with some other contries the understand the value of this industry thereby there are promoting and investing more in it by creating more attarctive spots for vistors,
To sum up, i feel there could be some negative impacts which we can manage by implementing some rules and regulations but overall the positive side or huge impact on economy outwight the concerns.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is identifiable: you acknowledge that tourism can affect local culture, but argue that these effects can be managed and that tourism’s economic benefits are greater. You support this with relevant points about employment, local businesses and visitors to the UAE, Singapore and Thailand. This addresses the question, but the discussion is uneven: the cultural and environmental damage named in the prompt receives little development, and the examples mainly illustrate economic growth rather than showing how harm is controlled. The claim that rules and regulations can manage negative effects is promising, but needs a specific example and explanation. Develop both sides more fully and make the extent of your agreement explicit throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has an overall structure, moving from an introduction to supporting paragraphs and a conclusion. Signposts such as “To begin with,” “on the other hand” and “To sum up” help readers follow the broad direction. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to track: the first body paragraph combines economic benefits, cultural concerns and tourists’ responsibilities in one long sentence. The paragraph beginning “moving ahead” gives examples of destinations but does not clearly connect them to the argument about managing damage. Some linking phrases feel mechanical, and punctuation and paragraph boundaries are inconsistent. Give each paragraph one clear purpose, use shorter units to show relationships between ideas, and ensure each example is explicitly tied to your position.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “GDP,” “local business sector,” “job opportunities,” “beliefs and norms” and “rules and regulations.” These choices help communicate the main ideas, and some phrases show an attempt to discuss tourism in an academic context. However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable, including “statment,” “resturants,” “transpoters” and “outwight.” Several expressions are also imprecise or unnatural, such as “more option for the people to earn a handsome revenue” and “attractive destination.” These issues do not prevent the reader from understanding the general argument, but they reduce precision. Check spelling carefully and practise natural collocations for economic and cultural impacts.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “while,” “where” and “which.” This gives the response some structural variety, and the main message is generally understandable. However, sentence control is inconsistent, especially in long sentences that combine several ideas. There are errors in agreement and verb forms, as in “tourism play” and “a huge number of people visiting,” as well as missing or incorrect articles and plural forms. Capitalisation and punctuation are also unreliable, with several sentences running together. Break complex ideas into complete sentences, check subject–verb agreement and verb forms, and review articles and sentence boundaries. More accurate control of these patterns would make your argument easier to read.
