Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You identify both the economic benefits of tourism and its possible harm to local culture, and the example about traditional clothing and food is relevant to the question. However, your position is not clearly stated: the opening mentions benefits, while the final sentence introduces cultural damage without saying how far you agree that this damage is ignored. The response also contains only 119 words, so it is 131 words short of the required minimum; the 12 words copied from the prompt are excluded from that count. As a result, the discussion is minimal, with no developed explanation of environmental effects or why the damage is overlooked. State your position directly, then develop and support it with reasons and examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is a basic sequence from tourism’s economic role to its cultural effects, and the example about your visit to Murree gives the reader a concrete illustration. The linking words “Moreover” and “Once” also show an attempt to connect points. However, the response is not divided into clear paragraphs, and the ideas do not progress into a complete argument or conclusion. The opening sentence about income is difficult to connect to the later cultural example, while “Although tourism has negative impact…” is left as an incomplete thought. Organise the response into an introduction, developed body paragraphs and a conclusion, using clear links to show how each point supports your position.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “economies,” “local community,” “traditional dresses” and “local food,” so the reader can identify the main subject. There is also an attempt to express more specific ideas through phrases such as “basic needs” and “upcoming generation.” However, the range is limited, and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unclear, including “rapid growing industries,” “social and economy” and “different living style.” Spelling errors such as “Altough,” “acessed” and “restuarant” also reduce accuracy. Build a wider set of precise terms for cultural change and environmental harm, and check spelling and natural word combinations when editing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response attempts to use both simple and more extended sentence forms, for example the opening sentence and the sentence beginning “Once I moved to Muree.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors sometimes make relationships between ideas unclear. The clause “Although tourism has negative impact on our cultures and the environment” is incomplete, while “which they utilizes” has an agreement error and “tries to to adopt” repeats the infinitive marker. There are also problems with articles, plurals and punctuation, such as “an income” in this context and the missing space after the full stop before “Although.” Practise completing subordinate clauses and checking subject–verb agreement, sentence boundaries and punctuation.
