Student answer (Band 5.0)

As tourism helps the industries to grow and contributes a great deal economies around the world, there are few people believes that tourist leaves damages and causes local cultures to be often neglected. In my own opionion, I completely disagree with this statement.

Visiting your dream destination needs a preparation and study to what what are the expectations and reality you might experience there. Right now, Asia is one of the most tourist destination as they have a beautiful cultures, islands, landscapes and foods. Most people prioritize the place where they can experience new culture like wearing the country national outfit and exploring the different tradition where they are able to feel that they are local. And I believe, before they decided to do it, they study and research what are the best way to respect and honor the other cultures.

When we talk about the fastest growing economy in Asia, Singapore comes to my mind. It ranked one of the cleanliness and safeties country in Asia that is why even it is a small country and have a limited natural creation seen in this country, people often visit the place as they feel safe. They keep growing and inviting tourist and the country does not feel that their culture and environment is ignored by visitors, but it made them more recognize country as they set boundaries to every tourist that will come to visit. They make sure that the tourist leave the country as clean as it is showing respect to the country.

To sum it up, I am beyond disagree that tourist causes the negligence of the culture and environment, in facts, they help the economy and industry grow faster by setting a rules to them on how to respect and honor the culture during their stay in their dream destination.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You state a clear position—“I completely disagree”—and give relevant points about cultural exchange and Singapore’s efforts to protect its cleanliness and safety. However, the response only partially develops the question’s central concern: whether tourism damages local cultures and the environment. The first body paragraph mainly describes tourists researching customs, while the Singapore example asserts that visitors respect the country without showing specific evidence or explaining how tourism protects the environment. The conclusion repeats your position but does not add a developed reason. To strengthen the response, address both culture and environmental impact directly, acknowledge that harmful effects can occur, and support your view with specific examples and explanation.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and the ideas generally relate to your disagreement. Basic links such as “When we talk about” and “To sum it up” help signal movement between sections. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow: the discussion shifts from tourists researching customs to wearing national clothing, and the Singapore paragraph moves from economic growth to cleanliness without clearly connecting these points to the claim. Some linking phrases feel formulaic, and references such as “they” can be unclear. Organise each body paragraph around one main reason, then explain and illustrate it in a clear sequence.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “local cultures,” “tradition,” “boundaries,” and “respect and honor,” which helps communicate your general ideas. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or awkward, sometimes making meaning less clear. For example, “most tourist destination,” “natural creation,” and “recognized country” do not express the intended ideas naturally; “tourism,” “natural attractions,” and “more widely recognized” would be clearer in context. There are also spelling and word-form errors, such as “opionion” and “safeties.” Build a more precise range for discussing tourism’s benefits and costs, and check collocations and spelling during revision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including clauses beginning with “as” and “that is why,” but complex structures are often faulty and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to read. For example, “there are few people believes” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “they decided to do it, they study” mixes verb forms and does not clearly connect the clauses. In “even it is a small country and have,” the clause structure and agreement are also inaccurate. Articles, plurals and sentence boundaries need attention. Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a clearly linked supporting clause, then check verb agreement and tense.
