Student answer (Band 5.5)
The trend of tourism has surged rapidly all across the world and hit a low and reach point of culmination in 20th century. Many individuals prioritise tour instead of journey because of multiple factors such as cost, experience and sense of being able to relax from the daily grind of the life.Although, this approach offers several advantages, it comes with a great price of environmental degradation, loss in biodiversity and damage to common practices. From my perspective, the short-comings of tourism can be control by taking appropriate measures to conserve the environment and to boost the country's economy.
On the one hand, Tourism facilitates the country's economy by enhancing the captivating site which are located in the country. However, it has now become indispensable to spend moderate budget on beautiful sites, ethereal valleys and breathtaking views in order to rip benefit from it and spend the expenditure in vulnerable aspects of country to increase the internal and external condition of country respectively. Therefore, industriousness in making sites more conspicious and ostentatious facilitates the country by increasing the economy.
On the other hand, the trend of tourism comes with a great price. One of the significant cause of tourism is environmental degradation which is generally due to abundance of plastic and carbon prints. The tourism also results in loss of biodiversity.if the sites is expose to the world then it become easily to target it and to utilise it for various purposes without the permission of legislative authorities. Moreover, it also damages the beauty of local culture by forgetting the folklores about their heritage and their common practices.
In conclusion, we can curb the effects of vast tourism by the advocates of environmental preservation and by imposing taxes on the aesthetic sites of country. We can level the field by bridging the gap between nation and government regulations.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both the economic benefits of tourism and its environmental and cultural costs, and your conclusion proposes measures such as environmental preservation and taxes. However, the response only partly answers the extent question: the position that tourism’s shortcomings can be controlled is present, but it does not clearly state how far you agree that damage is ignored. Several points are asserted rather than explained. For example, the claim that tourism boosts the economy through improving sites is not supported with a specific example or a clear explanation of how benefits reach the country. The discussion of cultural damage is also brief. State your degree of agreement directly, then develop each main reason with a concrete example and a clearer link to your position.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting contrasting aspects, and a conclusion. Signposting such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” helps readers follow the broad organisation. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow because ideas are loosely connected or the links are unclear. For instance, the first body paragraph moves from improving sites to spending on vulnerable aspects and then to increasing the economy without explaining each connection. Some transitions, including “Therefore,” signal a conclusion that has not been fully established. Organise each paragraph around one clear point, explain it step by step, and use linking expressions only where the relationship between ideas is explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “environmental degradation,” “loss of biodiversity,” “legislative authorities,” and “environmental preservation.” These choices show an effort to discuss the issue beyond basic terms. However, a number of word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, which sometimes makes the meaning difficult to interpret. Phrases such as “hit a low and reach point of culmination,” “rip benefit,” and “carbon prints” do not express the intended ideas clearly; “carbon emissions” would be more appropriate for the last phrase. There are also spelling errors, such as “conspicious.” Aim for precise, natural combinations rather than inserting elaborate vocabulary, and check spelling and word forms during revision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a concession in the introduction and conditional structures such as “if the sites is expose to the world.” However, complex sentences are often not controlled accurately, and errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and punctuation recur. Examples include “the short-comings … can be control,” “the significant cause … is,” and “if the sites is expose … it become.” These errors can make the reader pause to interpret your meaning. Sentence boundaries and spacing after full stops also need attention. Practise building accurate sentences with subordinate clauses, checking that subjects and verbs agree and that verbs have the correct form before adding further complexity.
