Student answer (Band 5.5)
Thesedays , economy is growing rapidly with the progress in tourism as it contributes heavily to yhe economy of the whole nation but the damage that is caused by tourists is not only bad for environment but also put adverse impact on local culture. There are several benefits behind this notion but the drawbacks cannot be neglected.
To commence with this, there a number of marits of having tourism . First and foremost is that tourism leads to the high growth in the whole economy as if visitors travel alot in the world then automatically economy will increase at its peak as it benefits alot to the government. Secondly, if there is alot of tourism in country then people can easily get information about other cultures and their lifestyle by exploring the nation as they can enjoy their hospitality and even they can learn their history as well . Hence tourism is advantageous to the world.
Moving further towards the disadvantages of having tourism . Firstly , tourism brings demage to the historical places where they do not know the rules and restrictions as they throw waste anywhere even sometimes they just scratch the walls with anything or write their names due to superstitions which leads to demage as it is very difficult to manage these kind of tourists attractions .
In conclusion, tourism is fruitfull for high rise in economy and to know other cultures ,while i belive there drwabacks like demage to historical places cannot be ignored.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address the topic by recognising tourism’s economic and cultural benefits as well as damage to historic places, and your conclusion indicates that you consider the harms significant. However, the response does not clearly state the extent to which you agree or disagree with the claim that cultural and environmental damage is ignored. The discussion is also uneven: economic growth and learning about other cultures are mentioned, but the environmental impact is not developed, and the example of visitors damaging walls is not extended with explanation or a specific illustration. The response is one word below the required minimum. To strengthen the answer, state your position directly in the introduction and develop both cultural and environmental effects with relevant examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph on benefits, a paragraph on disadvantages, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “First and foremost,” “Secondly,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the main stages. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical, and the benefits paragraph moves quickly from economic growth to cultural learning without explaining their relationship. Some linking expressions, including “Moving further towards the disadvantages,” are wordy, while the conclusion largely repeats earlier points rather than drawing them together. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each supporting example explicitly to your position. This would make the organisation feel more purposeful and the links between ideas more natural.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “hospitality,” “historical places,” “restrictions,” and “local culture,” so the reader can understand the main subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive, such as “high growth in the whole economy,” “demage,” and “fruitfull for high rise.” Spelling errors such as “marits,” “belive,” and “drwabacks” also make the writing less clear and polished. Aim for precise, natural combinations rather than repeating “alot” and “damage.” For example, describe tourism as “boosting the national economy” and explain that visitors may “damage heritage sites.” Proofreading for spelling and choosing accurate collocations would improve clarity.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a conditional construction beginning “if visitors travel” and a relative clause in “places where they do not know the rules.” However, the range is limited, and complex sentences are often faulty or difficult to follow. Examples include “there a number of” (missing a verb), “tourism leads to the high growth … as if visitors travel” (an unclear sentence structure), and “the drawbacks … cannot be ignored” followed by an unclear shift in the conclusion. Articles, agreement, and punctuation also need attention; for instance, “in country” needs an article, and spaces before commas and full stops are inconsistent. Practise building shorter, complete sentences first, then add subordinate clauses with clear grammatical links.
