Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you agree tourism has harmful effects but argue its benefits are greater. You address both sides, discussing employment and economic growth as benefits, and cultural change and litter as drawbacks. These points are relevant, but some are less fully developed than others. For example, the claim that visitors create “career opportunities” is not supported with a specific explanation or example, and the cultural impact is described generally rather than showing how local traditions may change. You do offer practical responses, such as awareness campaigns and installing bins, which helps answer the issue. To strengthen the response, explain the scale or consequences of each key point and include a concrete example, while making the comparison between benefits and harms more explicit.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction states your view, the next paragraphs consider benefits and drawbacks, and the conclusion restates your position. Transitions such as “On the other side” and “In conclusion” help readers follow this structure. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. The benefits paragraph moves from jobs to cultural awareness without explaining how the second point supports your argument, while the final paragraph largely repeats earlier claims. Within the drawbacks paragraph, the shift from environmental damage to advice for locals is abrupt, and “these problems” does not always make clear which problems are meant. Use clearer links between each claim and its explanation, and organise solutions as a distinct, logically connected point.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “economy,” “career opportunities,” “soil pollution,” “awareness,” and “policies,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. However, the range is limited by repeated general words such as “advantages,” “disadvantages,” “people,” and “increase,” and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate. For instance, “well growing industry,” “make economy strong,” and “make attraction” do not express the intended meanings naturally. Spelling errors such as “definetely,” “deisre,” “environement,” and “comapigns” also reduce precision. Build a more accurate set of phrases for describing tourism’s economic, cultural, and environmental effects, and check spelling and word forms during revision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including conditional structures such as “If more people visit… then it definitely increase…” and a contrastive sentence beginning “But with some awareness…”. This gives the response some structural variety, and the overall meaning can usually be followed. However, errors in agreement, articles, plurals, and sentence construction recur. Examples include “it increase the jobs opportunities,” “The another major disadvantage,” and “tourism has multiple advantages such as increase opportunities.” Some sentences also join several ideas without clear punctuation, as in the opening. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and article use, and make sure each sentence has a complete, clearly structured clause. More reliable control of these patterns would make your ideas easier to read.
