Student answer (Band 6.0)
Tourism, is one of the fastest growinmg industries in the todays world. It contributes a great deal to the economy and provides lots of jobs oppurtunity to local people. I totally agree, with the veiw of tourism cause damage to local culture and environment is often ignore over financial benefit.
Firstly, tourism create severe damage to the nature. When thousands of tourist visit to the destination, it brings lot of plastic waste and pollution. For instance, beautiful beaches and coral reefs are damage by the crowded boats and hotels are built near the coastal site. Additionally thousands of plastic waste found near the beaches which pollutes the water and damages the beauty of beaches. Unfortunately, government are ignoring these ecological problem because they focus on profit that the visitors bring to their country.
Furthermore, tourism easily damages the scared rituals and traditions. In many places these traditional dances are changed into cheap entertainment just to pleased the foreign visitors. These ancient dances are losing its true meaning. Consequently, arrival of foreign visitor often creates cost of living and housing. Therefore, the local families are no longer afford their own neghbourhoods and forced to move away.
In conclusion, i think tourism bring financial benfit to the economy and provides the jobs for the local. However, we should not ignore negative impact and the damages it bring to the nature aswell as to the heritage culture and rituals its a very serious issue. We must balance the economic growth and environment protection. Ensuring that we look after the planet and our local communities in future.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction: you agree that tourism’s environmental and cultural costs are often overlooked in favour of financial benefits. You address both areas with relevant examples, including plastic pollution and damage to coral reefs, and traditions being altered for visitors. The conclusion also restates your view and calls for balance. This meets the task well, while some ideas are less fully developed: for example, the claim that tourism raises housing costs and forces families to move is relevant but receives little explanation or supporting detail. To strengthen the response further, explain the causes and consequences of each example more fully and connect them explicitly to why the damage is ignored.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs on environmental and cultural effects, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “Firstly,” “Furthermore,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the main points, and the ideas generally progress logically. However, some links are mechanical, and connections within paragraphs are occasionally unclear. For instance, “Consequently” introduces the housing-cost point, but the relationship between altered traditions and rising housing costs is not explained; these would be clearer as separate effects or with a more precise transition. The conclusion also moves quickly from the harms to a recommendation. Use referencing and transitions more precisely, and make the relationship between each example and the paragraph’s main idea explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “coral reefs,” “plastic waste,” “traditions,” and “cost of living,” so the main ideas are understandable. There are also attempts at more specific language, such as “ecological problem” and “financial benefit.” However, the range and control are limited by repeated general words and noticeable spelling and word-choice errors, including “growinmg,” “oppurtunity,” “veiw,” and “benfit.” Some combinations are unnatural, such as “tourism create severe damage to the nature” and “creates cost of living.” These errors sometimes make the reader pause, even though the intended meaning is usually recoverable. Build a bank of accurate collocations for tourism impacts and check spelling and word forms carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a conditional-style explanation beginning “When thousands of tourist visit…” and a relative clause in “the profit that the visitors bring.” The overall meaning is generally clear, but control is uneven: errors occur in subject–verb agreement, articles, plurals, and sentence boundaries. Examples include “tourism create,” “government are,” and “the local families are no longer afford”; the final sentence, “Ensuring that we look after…,” is also a fragment rather than a complete sentence. Punctuation is sometimes inaccurate, as in the comma after “Tourism” and the run-on ending of the conclusion. Practise checking each sentence for a clear subject and finite verb, and use complex structures only when you can control their grammar.
