Student answer (Band 5.5)

Although tourism has a considerable amount of impact in cultures and environment, its economic advantages largely contributes towards nation around the globe. Despite of its positive development, we have to address its negative impact in our surrounding, and I belive active participation with citizens is one of the solution.

On the one hand, tourism is one of the fast way to grow ecomomy of any states nowadays. This is because it attracts the domestic and international tourist around the world to explre the area physically rather than observe in social platforms. For example, himalayan ranges and the old temples from Nepal are the most actractive aspects that individuals come from various region to explore or gain informaiton. Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your response addresses both sides of the issue and gives a relevant position: tourism brings economic benefits, but its effects on culture and the environment need attention. The Nepal examples, including the Himalayan region, temples and Raute communities, help make the discussion specific. However, the extent of your agreement is not fully clear: the opening emphasises economic advantages, while the conclusion mainly summarises both sides and ends before stating a complete final judgement. Some points are also under-developed. For instance, you mention employment and economic benefits without explaining how these compare with cultural or environmental harm, and the Raute example needs a clearer link to tourism. State your position directly and develop each example with a brief explanation of cause and effect.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay has a recognisable overall structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for benefits and harms, and a concluding attempt. The contrast between “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” makes the main organisation easy to follow, and examples generally appear alongside the relevant point. Some connections are less clear or mechanical, however. “Consequently” introduces authorities’ research and preservation, but the relationship to the preceding economic benefits is not fully explained. The final sentence is incomplete, which leaves the conclusion and progression unfinished. Use linking phrases only when the logical relationship is clear, and make the conclusion a complete statement that returns to your position. Clearer links between examples and claims would also improve the flow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt topic-specific vocabulary, including “economic advantages,” “environmental degradation,” “traditional values,” and “habitat loss,” which helps communicate the main ideas. However, spelling errors and inaccurate word choices are noticeable and sometimes make the reader pause: examples include “ecomomy,” “explre,” “contamination,” and “preserve” misspelled as “preseve.” Some combinations are also unnatural, such as “mobile economy” and “hot impacts,” and “impact in cultures” is not an appropriate collocation. Aim for accurate, natural phrases and check spelling carefully, especially for key topic words. A smaller set of well-controlled expressions—such as “local livelihoods,” “cultural erosion,” and “pressure on habitats”—would make the argument more precise.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You use both simple and complex sentence forms, including a concession in “Although tourism…” and a cause-and-effect structure beginning “This is because…”. These attempts help express relationships between ideas, but some grammatical errors remain and occasionally make sentences difficult to interpret. For example, “its economic advantages largely contributes” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “it offer a benefits” has agreement and article/plural errors. “It can be conclude” and “tourism have” also show problems with verb forms and agreement. The final sentence is incomplete. Review agreement, articles and verb forms, and proofread each sentence for a complete main clause. More accurate control of these patterns would make your complex sentences clearer.
