Student answer (Band 5.5)
In recent trends the tourism was the one of the most popular and demanded industry which contributes to generating more revenue around the world. However others believe that, tourism creates more damge to the local cultures and the environment and it was often ignored. I disagree with latter statement because governments and local communities are becoming aware of this problems and taking steps to reduce them.
On the one hand, toursim creates several problems for the environment and local cultures. For instance, a large number of tourists can cause a traffic congestion which leads to disturbance to the local people. Some vistors throw plastic waste and rubbish in the public places which makes tourist destination even more dirty. In addition, some locals will relay on earning money rather than saving the local culture. This problem show that tourism need to managed properly.
On the other hand, i believe that negative effects will not be ignored. Governments can introduce strict rules and punish the people who damage the public places or protected natural aeras. For example, they can introduce fines for the tourists who throw waste or rubbish on the public places. Although tourism creates new opportunities like employment and revenue for the place. Therefore many communities has a reason to protect the nature and tourism destinations.
In conclusion, although tourism can cause environmental damage as well as cultural damage the negative effects pf the tourism should not be ignored. I disagree with the statement and goverenments and llocal communities need to protect the tourism spots or destinations.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is stated clearly: you disagree that tourism’s harmful effects are ignored, and the conclusion repeats this view. You also acknowledge both environmental and cultural damage, then mention government rules, fines, employment and revenue. However, the response only partly develops the task. The examples of litter and traffic explain how tourism causes harm, but the response gives little evidence that these effects are actually being addressed or why communities protect cultural traditions. The claim that employment and revenue encourage protection is relevant but asserted rather than explained. Develop this reasoning with a specific example and make the distinction between tourism’s harms and the measures taken to prevent them clearer.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting contrasting points, and a conclusion. Linking phrases such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the broad direction. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes uneven: the second body paragraph moves from government penalties to employment and revenue without fully explaining the connection. The sentence beginning “Although tourism creates new opportunities” is also not smoothly connected to the following point. Use clearer links between claims and explanations, and ensure each paragraph develops one main line of reasoning. Some references, such as “this problem,” are also vague about which issue is meant.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “traffic congestion,” “plastic waste,” “local culture,” “fines,” and “employment.” However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors make the writing less precise. Examples include “demanded industry,” “tourist destination even more dirty,” and “protect the tourism spots.” There are also repeated general terms such as “damage,” “problem,” and “place,” where more specific wording would strengthen the argument. Check spelling carefully, including “tourism,” “visitors,” “areas,” and “governments,” and learn common combinations such as “generate revenue” and “protect natural areas.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a mixture of simple and complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “because,” “which,” and “although.” This gives the response some structural variety, but errors occur frequently and sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to follow. For example, “This problem show that tourism need to managed properly” has problems with subject–verb agreement and the verb construction; “many communities has” also has incorrect agreement. Articles and sentence construction need attention in phrases such as “the tourism was the one of” and in the fragment-like transition “Although tourism creates new opportunities.” Practise accurate agreement, articles, and complete complex sentences, then proofread punctuation and capitalisation, including the pronoun “I.”
