Student answer (Band 6.0)

In this contemporary era, it is undeniable truth that tourism is on top of list of rapid growing industries and contribute to economies at higher extent all around the world. Meanwhile, on the dark side harms and destruction which arises from ventures of visitors to the residents of particular area are ignored more frequently. I firmly agree with this argument, alongside the substantial revenue it still leads to several hazordous consequences including culturak heritage and environmental pollution. The following essay will elaborate on this perspective throughly.

Firstly, tourism threatens the cultural heritage and traditions of local area. When large number of individuals arrive in particular destination traditions, culturs and local activities are gradually be replaced by commercial activities. As for instance, traditional festivals and handicrafts may lose their importance when other commercial and recreational activities attain individual attention. Moreover, tourists behave differently, disrespect relegious places and local culture which leads to strong conflicts and discrimination of socoety. Consequently, attractive places may slightly lose their identity so government should address some positive measures to secure these destinations and create peaceful environment.

Furthermore, mass tourism has devastating effect on surrounding environment as they creates distingiust problems like water pollution, land and air. Attractice destination suffers extensive pollution including plastic bags and can which contaminates the environment and make life challenging for humans and other species, For example, overcrowded beaches often suffers from plastic pollution and damage the ecosystem. Additionally, it also destroy the local habitat of birds and sea creatures as it was observed several species are to extinct in nearer future if the level of pollution remaine the same. Although tourism contribute to overall economy and national income but the demrits of tourism outweight the merits, therefore state should introduce strict environmental regulations and penalties for all people who break these laws just to conserve the environment, culture.

In conclusion, despite the benefits of tourism including employment oppertunities and source of revenue still there is need of proper rules and regulations to conserve the local environment, cultural heritage which might be the positive approach, which mitimate the overall distruction, contamination in environment.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0

Your position is clear from the introduction: you agree that tourism’s harms are often overlooked, and you maintain this view while acknowledging its economic benefits. The two main reasons—damage to cultural traditions and harm to the environment—are relevant and supported with examples such as festivals losing importance and plastic pollution on beaches. This addresses the task and gives the argument a clear direction. To strengthen the response further, develop the examples and explain more precisely how tourism causes each harm; some claims, such as tourists causing “strong conflicts and discrimination,” are asserted rather than demonstrated. The conclusion also repeats the need for regulation but could more directly summarise how the two harms support your stated degree of agreement.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The essay has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for cultural and environmental effects, and a conclusion. Sequencing expressions such as “Firstly,” “Furthermore,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the main stages, and the central argument progresses logically. This is a coherent overall arrangement. However, some links are mechanical, and several sentences contain multiple ideas that are not clearly connected. For example, the environmental paragraph moves from pollution to species extinction and then to regulations in a long sequence. Pronoun references such as “it” in “Additionally, it also destroy” are not always clear. Use clearer sentence boundaries and more precise referencing, and connect examples explicitly to the point they illustrate to make cohesion more flexible.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “cultural heritage,” “commercial activities,” “ecosystem,” “environmental regulations,” and “revenue.” These choices show awareness of the subject and allow the main ideas to be understood. However, inaccurate word forms, spelling, and collocations are frequent enough to make the expression noticeably awkward and sometimes slow the reader. Examples include “rapid growing industries,” “hazordous consequences,” “attractice destination,” and “mititate the overall distruction.” Some phrases are also imprecise, such as “create peaceful environment” when discussing protection of local culture. Aim to use fewer ambitious expressions more accurately, check spelling carefully, and learn common combinations such as “rapidly growing industry” and “damage the local ecosystem.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “when,” “which,” and “although,” and the overall meaning is generally recoverable. However, control is inconsistent: errors in agreement, articles, verb forms, and sentence boundaries occur throughout. For example, “tourism … contribute” needs subject–verb agreement, “large number of individuals arrive” needs an article, and “as they creates” combines an incorrect verb form with a plural subject. The sentence beginning “Although tourism contribute…” is also not properly joined to the main clause. These patterns make some sentences difficult to process. Practise checking each sentence for a clear subject and verb, correct agreement, and complete clause structure; then proofread punctuation, especially where long sentences join several claims.
