Student answer (Band 6.0)

In the era of social media , pictures and informations are faster than the air and this leads to increase in tourism sector and nature lover. Toursim sector is a fastest growing industry and contribute to economy of any tourism dependent country like India , Maldieves, Srilanka etcetra. However, tourism sector also damaged or disturbed the local culture, native flora and fauna and ecosystem.

On one hand, tourism sector is a lifeline of major countries in economical terms like Maldieves and andaman and nicobar{India} where from all around the world tourists gather to enjoy beach, mountains and beauty. Thererfore, tourists sometimes unintentionally or intentionally harm local native species by making noise, plastic pollution and hamper local culture of adivasis or tribal people. Recently, there was a news about deforestration in the amazon jungle of Brazil for making roads and hotels which hampered the native species like olive redley turtles and amazonians native tribes.

On the other hand, many governments are putting efforts to make tourism sector as sustainable development goal where rights of native tribes and flora and fauna should be protected. Example, SDG of United Nations which include protecting natural ecosystem like oceans , lakes and forests and endangered animals. Countries like India and Brazil are making essential efforts in tackling unsustainable tourism sector by giving them UNESCO Biodiversity heritage site recognition .

Therefore, i firmly agree with the statement that due to unsustainable tourism sector many economies are damaging or disturbing the native tribes and ecology of that area. Way forwarding can be sustainable and ecocentric approach should be adopted to protect natural ecosystem.

In conclusion, by efforts of all governments and economies we can make tourism sector sustainable and ecocentric and helps in protecting endangered and threatened species like jaguar, cheetah and efforts to protect local cultures.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you firmly agree that tourism can damage local communities and ecosystems, and you address both environmental and cultural effects. The examples of noise and plastic pollution, harm to tribal communities, and the Amazon help make the discussion relevant. You also acknowledge the economic value of tourism and mention government efforts, so the response considers more than one aspect of the issue. However, some points are asserted rather than explained: the Amazon example needs a clearer link to tourism, and the discussion of UNESCO recognition does not show specifically how it protects local people or nature. Develop these examples and explain the scale or conditions under which tourism causes harm to make the argument more fully supported.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two contrasting body paragraphs and a conclusion. The progression from tourism’s economic benefits to its possible harms and then to sustainability is generally easy to follow. Linking phrases such as “On one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “Therefore” help signal the stages of the argument. At times, however, the contrast between the two body paragraphs is not fully clear: the second paragraph describes protective efforts but does not explain how these qualify or balance the harms discussed earlier. Some transitions also feel mechanical, and references such as “them” in “giving them UNESCO…” are unclear. Make the relationship between ideas explicit and use more precise referencing.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “ecosystem,” “native species,” “plastic pollution,” “sustainable development,” and “endangered animals.” These choices help communicate the subject and show an attempt to use less common language. However, inaccurate word forms, spelling and collocations sometimes reduce precision, as in “informations,” “economical terms,” “deforestration,” and “ecocentric approach.” Some phrases are also vague or unnatural, such as “pictures and informations are faster than the air” and “make tourism sector as sustainable development goal.” Choose more conventional academic collocations and check spelling and word forms. This would make your meaning clearer while retaining the useful topic-specific vocabulary already present.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a relative clause in “where from all around the world tourists gather” and a conditional-style recommendation in the final body paragraph. The main ideas are usually understandable, but some grammatical errors affect clarity and control. For example, “Tourism sector is a fastest growing industry and contribute” has article and subject–verb agreement problems, while “tourism sector also damaged” uses an unsuitable verb form. There are also errors in sentence construction, as in “Example, SDG of United Nations which include…,” and punctuation is inconsistent. Practise accurate articles, agreement and verb forms, and revise sentence boundaries so that complex ideas are expressed in complete, well-controlled sentences.
