Student answer (Band 5.0)
In the modern world, growing industries of tourism has become a matter of considerable debate. Some people believe that it is beneficial for econony of the country, because tourists can spend so much money during travelling, whereas others argue that it will also detrimental to environment or society because the people during holiday not care about the enviroment, they keep throwing garbage everywhere and they not respect and care the other people's culture and damage the land also pollute the air due to vehicles which is used during the travelling. There are valid arguments on both sides os this issue. This essay will discuss both views and present my personal opinion.
On the one hand, there are several reasons why people support the first view. The most important reason is that it can provide numerous benefits to individuals and society. It can improve people's quality of life and better opportunities for the future. Furthermore, it can save valuable time and resources and make everyday more convenient and effective. For example, in many countries, people have significant changes in their personal and proffesional lives because of htis development.
On the other hand, opponents of this view also have some conviencing arguments. The major concern is that it may create certain problems and challenges for individuals as well as society. For instance, some people may face financial, social or practical difficulties because of it. Moreover, these problem can become more serious is appropriate measures are not taken. Hence, this perspective should not be ignored.
In conclusion, although both sides have their own advantages and disadvantages. I believe that every people who's going for a trip it should be a responsibilty to safe the environment by not creating the excessive pollution then we can save our culture and environment. This is mainly because it can provide greator benefits, reduce potential problems and contribute to the overall development of society.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
The response recognises that tourism can bring economic benefits while also harming the environment and local culture, and the conclusion expresses support for responsible travel. However, the task asks how far you agree or disagree, whereas the introduction promises to “discuss both views” and the body gives generic arguments about development rather than explaining tourism’s specific effects. For example, claims that tourism improves quality of life or saves time and resources are not supported with relevant examples, and the opposing paragraph refers vaguely to “financial, social or practical difficulties.” Your position is therefore only partly clear and the main ideas remain under-developed. Address the question directly from the outset, then explain and illustrate how tourism affects economies, communities, and the environment.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable introduction, two body paragraphs presenting contrasting sides, and a conclusion. Signposting such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” helps readers follow this basic structure. However, progression within the body is limited: the first paragraph moves from quality of life to opportunities and convenience without showing how these points relate to tourism, while the second lists broad difficulties rather than developing a connected argument. Some linking is mechanical, and the conclusion’s ideas about responsibility and wider benefits are not clearly connected. Build each paragraph around one tourism-specific main idea, explain it, and add a relevant example. Use referencing and transitions to show how each sentence develops the previous one.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “economies,” “environment,” “culture,” “pollute,” and “responsibility,” and attempt more formal expressions such as “considerable debate” and “appropriate measures.” However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors make parts difficult to read. Examples include “econony,” “enviroment,” “conviencing,” and “proffesional”; phrases such as “save valuable time and resources” and “greater benefits” are also vague or poorly matched to the tourism argument. Aim for accurate, specific expressions such as “tourism revenue,” “damage to natural habitats,” and “respect local customs.” Proofread spelling and choose vocabulary that precisely describes the effects you discuss.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response attempts both simple and longer sentences, including a contrast introduced by “whereas” and a conditional idea beginning “if appropriate measures are not taken.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. For example, “growing industries of tourism has become” has problems with number and sentence construction, while “it will also detrimental” is missing a verb. In the conclusion, “every people who's going for a trip it should be” has several agreement and clause-structure problems. There are also errors in articles, plurals, and punctuation, including the sentence fragment beginning “although both sides.” Practise building accurate subject–verb patterns and checking each sentence for a complete main clause before adding complexity.
