Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is considered that one of the leading industries is tourism, and it has a significant contribution to economies worldwide whereas the negative impact of that on the local cultures and the environment is usually neglected. I totally agree regarding the opinion above and this essay will discuss this point of view.
The most significant reason why I do support the idea is that tourism can lead to the demand of spending more culturally resources. It may bring about many benefits in terms of economies, but also carry on the the need to maximize the using of local heritages for profit in parallel. For example, the overcrowded tourism in a region may lead to difficulties in how local people control and preserve the heritages. Thus, This negatively affects the maintenance of such important cultural characteristics, which possibly results in losing cultural identity.
The second reason that I consider this opinion worrisome because tourists can unconsciously release more trashes regarding to the overuse of plastic bottles, cards and many other stuffs they carry on. Specifically, the use of products that is not environmentally friendly, in which may extremely damage to the local space as well as the community atmosphere people live. This means that it does not only deduct the cultural values but probably lead to destruction of the existing ecosystem. In consequences, the profit proportion for region's economies could recognizably increase as people's income could be improved significantly but the habitat and the cultural identity may be on the edge of deterioration.
In conclusion, I do support the statement because tourism can do harm to cultural regions and the habitat itself even the high economic values it brings on.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction (“I totally agree”) and remains consistent in the conclusion. You address both harms named in the prompt: pressure on cultural heritage and damage to the environment, and you explain how tourism’s economic benefits can coexist with these costs. The examples of overcrowding and tourists’ waste are relevant, but they remain general; the cultural paragraph, in particular, could explain more specifically how local customs or heritage are changed or commercialised. The environmental point is also less fully developed than the economic contrast at the end. This covers the task and gives relevant reasons, while fuller explanation and more precise examples would make the response more complete and persuasive.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate reasons, and a conclusion that restates your view. Signposting such as “The most significant reason,” “The second reason,” and “In conclusion” helps readers follow the progression. However, some links are mechanical or unclear. For example, “This means that it does not only deduct the cultural values” has an uncertain reference, and the transition from environmental damage to economic benefits in the same paragraph is abrupt. The conclusion is also brief and largely repeats the opening position. To strengthen progression, make each paragraph develop one main chain of reasoning and use clearer references and transitions between cause, effect, and consequence.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You attempt topic-relevant vocabulary, including “local heritages,” “cultural identity,” “ecosystem,” and “deterioration,” which shows some range beyond basic language. However, inaccurate word choice and collocation are noticeable and sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. Phrases such as “demand of spending more culturally resources,” “maximize the using of local heritages,” “release more trashes,” and “deduct the cultural values” are not natural or precise in this context. There are also imprecise choices such as “cards” and “many other stuffs.” Aim to learn vocabulary in common word partnerships and check whether a chosen noun or verb expresses the intended meaning. More accurate phrasing would make your ideas clearer and more convincing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mixture of simple and complex sentences, including clauses beginning “because,” “whereas,” and “which,” and the overall meaning is generally recoverable. However, complex structures are not consistently controlled. For instance, “The second reason that I consider this opinion worrisome because…” lacks a complete grammatical structure, while “the use of products that is not environmentally friendly” has a subject–verb agreement problem. In “in which may extremely damage,” the clause is incorrectly formed, and “even the high economic values it brings on” is not a complete, well-formed contrast. Review clause construction, agreement, and sentence boundaries, then proofread longer sentences carefully. Greater control would allow your range of structures to support rather than obscure your argument.
