Student answer (Band 5.5)

Tourism the topic which is the part of discussion in every part of world as it plays imoprtant role in the economy of country. There is a big number of tourist places around the world which are visited by the tourists every year. The debate here is that the tourist also cause the damage to culture and environment in those places is always ignored.According to my opinion im not totally disagreed but not fully agreed because it depends on the authorities and the implimentation of rules regulations on particular place.Governments and policy makers are responsible for the positive and the negative outcomes of turism in a country.

In one aspect if a country or a state has proper guidline for turist during there visitand restiriction on any type of voilation made by visitors the local culture and the enviroment could be protect from any harmness.for example if you are in a place of a developed country on your tour there will be proper guideline for you it maybe in the form of big banners, security gaurds , tourist guides they are availabe for any type of help and if someone committed anything which is againts the regulations there he will held accountable he may be charged fine or maybe he have to be behind the bar ifhe did the worst.

On the other hand in many case the damage caused by tourism is ignored as it was to the local culture or the environment. In many countries and the the visit places there is a lack of arrangments which cause the harmness like they dont have proper management nor the regulations and rules implementation.

In conclusion the responsibilites of the protect of local culture and enviorment in depands on the decision and policy makers as well aa the govertment officials and the department owhich is dealing with tourism in a particular place or country.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You give a relevant, qualified position: tourism’s effects depend on how well authorities regulate visitors, and you acknowledge that damage is sometimes ignored. The examples of signs, guides, security and penalties help explain how rules might protect a destination. However, the response only partly develops the question’s central claim. It focuses mainly on government responsibility and gives little detail about specific harm to local cultures or the environment, such as pollution, habitat damage or changes to local customs. The point that damage is ignored is asserted rather than illustrated, and the conclusion repeats the responsibility argument without clearly stating how far you agree or disagree. Develop both the cultural and environmental effects and make your degree of agreement explicit throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two contrasting body paragraphs beginning “In one aspect” and “On the other hand,” and a conclusion. This makes the main line of argument understandable. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow, particularly in the long example about rules and penalties, where several points are joined together without clear breaks. Some links are mechanical, and references such as “there” and “it” do not always make the intended place or issue clear. The second body paragraph also repeats the general claim about poor management rather than extending the argument with a specific example. Use clearer topic sentences, divide long sentences, and connect each example directly to the point it supports.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “local culture,” “environment,” “regulations,” “policy makers” and “tourist guides,” so the reader can identify the subject and your main ideas. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make parts of the response harder to understand. For example, “the protect of local culture” and “harmness” do not express the intended meaning naturally; “protection” and “harm” would be more suitable. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “imoprtant,” “implimentation” and “enviroment.” Build a more precise set of phrases for describing tourism’s effects, and check spelling and word forms carefully before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including conditional structures such as “if a country or a state has proper guideline … the local culture and the enviroment could be protect.” This shows an effort to explain cause and effect, but complex sentences are often faulty, and errors frequently make the reader work to understand the meaning. For instance, “the tourist also cause” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “he will held accountable” is missing the correct verb form. Sentence boundaries and punctuation are also inconsistent, especially where several clauses run together. Practise accurate conditional patterns and verb forms, and use shorter sentences when explaining examples so that each clause is grammatically complete.
