Student answer (Band 5.0)

Tourism is one of the best ways to expand the economy of a country. Country can use its resourcefull tourist place as an income source. It is often argued that Tourism is the greatest growing industries and provides a better deal to economies across the world. But the harmfulness of tourism can be responsible for local cultures and environment is often avoided. I am strongly agree with that local culture and environment are damaged by the cause of tourism which is ignored.

As tourism is one of the fastest growing industries and it provides a good contract to financial capebilities across the world. However, currently tourism is gradually damaged day by day. That is why local cultures and environment are hamperd gradually by the cause of harmfulness of tourism. Most of the tourist are not respectfull to the cultures where they are visited. They are not enough aware about the environment of the tourist place. For example, after using staff or any kind of plastic materials people do not put them in a proper place like in a bin or dustbin. That is why enviornment is getting polluted.

Moreover, people are visited to a tourist place and there are so many cultures. Sometimes, tourist started to interept in the local cultures or soetimes promot their cultures in a nagetive way. For example, in the hillside area the people are not much civilized. In that case when people from city arrea to visit these places, they make videos of that area and promote them in social media, cultures of tribes in a nagetive ways. As a result their cultures are impected for many irresponsible tourists.

In conclusion, I believe that though tourism is one of the best increasing industries and contributes a great deal to economies around the world, the destroyed tourism can cause to local cultures and the environment is often

disregarded.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You take a clear position that tourism harms local cultures and the environment, and you give relevant examples, including littering and tourists posting videos of tribal communities. However, the response only partly develops the task: the economic contribution is mentioned in the introduction and conclusion, but the discussion focuses almost entirely on harm, without weighing the extent of the damage against tourism’s benefits or explaining when it is especially serious. Some claims, such as describing hillside residents as “not much civilized,” are unclear and risk weakening the argument. To strengthen the response, explain your degree of agreement more precisely and develop each example by showing its consequences. The stated length requirement is met; 31 words copied from the task prompt were not counted.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs addressing environmental and cultural effects, and a conclusion. Paragraphing helps the reader identify the main topics, and connectors such as “Moreover,” “For example,” and “As a result” show attempts to link ideas. However, progression within paragraphs is often repetitive: the first body paragraph repeats that tourism is growing and damaging before reaching the litter example. Some links are unclear or mechanically phrased, such as “That is why” appearing repeatedly, and the conclusion does not clearly restate the extent of your agreement. Organise each body paragraph around one claim, then explain and illustrate it in a clear sequence, using references and transitions more precisely.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “local cultures,” “environment,” “polluted,” and “social media,” so the reader can follow the general subject. However, the range is limited and several noticeable word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors make parts difficult to understand. Examples include “greatest growing industries,” “good contract to financial capebilities,” “interept,” and “impected.” Phrases such as “the destroyed tourism” and “cultures … in a nagetive ways” also do not express your intended meaning naturally. Build a bank of accurate phrases for discussing economic benefits and social or environmental impacts, and check spelling and word forms carefully. More precise vocabulary would make your examples clearer and your argument more convincing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including clauses introduced by “However,” “That is why,” and “As a result.” This gives the response some structural variety, but complex sentences are often faulty, and frequent errors affect clarity. For example, “I am strongly agree” has an incorrect verb form, while “Most of the tourist are not respectfull” has problems with number and verb construction. “People are visited to a tourist place” also uses an incorrect passive pattern, and articles and agreement are inconsistent elsewhere. Practise forming accurate subject–verb patterns and past or present constructions before adding subordinate clauses. Proofread each sentence for a clear subject and verb, correct agreement, and appropriate articles.
