Student answer (Band 5.0)
There is growing debate on whether tourism contributes in the economy of a country or damage the local culture and enviroment. I agree with the former view because tourism plays a vital role in increasing countries economy and also tourism promote countries local cutures as well.
Tourist help to promote countries local culture and cousine. This will give countries a global recognization of their local culture. For example, vlogers showed ancient chinese culture and people start following that culture. Therefore, it became a free of cost promotion and people start following that culture.
Another reason of promoting tourism is, it helps to boots the economy of a country. Thus, Tourist spend a lot of money to visit countrie's famous places , similarly want to experience their local food. A clean example of this is, people love to try other countries local cusine although they are expensive. As a result, by spending lots of money tourist contribute in the country's economy.
In conclusion, tourist promote locality as well as contibute in the economy of other countries, because of these reasons I agree with the first view that tourism contributes a great deal to economies around the world.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
Your position is clear: you agree that tourism benefits economies and promotes local culture, and you give two relevant reasons with examples. However, the response addresses the question only partially because it does not meaningfully consider the stated concern that tourism can damage cultures and the environment, or explain why those harms are outweighed. The examples—vloggers introducing Chinese culture and tourists spending on local food—are brief and their connection to wider impacts is not fully explained. The response is also 187 words, below the required 250 words; the nine words copied from the task prompt are not counted. Develop both sides of your position, explain examples in more detail, and add a reasoned conclusion about the potential harms.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate benefits, and a conclusion that restates your view. This makes the main line of argument easy to follow. You also use basic linking expressions such as “For example,” “Therefore,” and “As a result.” However, progression is limited because both body paragraphs follow a similar claim-and-example pattern, and the discussion does not move on to the opposing concern in the question. Some links are mechanical or unclear: “Thus” does not clearly connect the spending claim to the preceding sentence, while “similarly” introduces an idea that is not quite parallel. Use clearer links between claims and explanations, and organise the essay around a fuller progression of ideas.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use a small range of topic-related vocabulary, including “local culture,” “global recognition,” “famous places,” and “contribute … in the economy.” These choices help communicate your main points, but the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making the reader pause. Examples include “contributes in the economy,” “free of cost promotion,” and “boots the economy”; more natural phrasing would be “contributes to the economy,” “free promotion,” and “boosts the economy.” Spelling errors such as “enviroment,” “cousine,” and “contibute” are also noticeable. Build a wider set of accurate expressions for discussing tourism’s economic, cultural, and environmental effects, and check spelling carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You communicate your overall position using mostly simple sentence patterns, and you attempt some longer structures with “because,” “although,” and “as a result.” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in sentence construction, agreement, articles, and plurals. For example, “Tourist help” needs a plural subject or a singular verb, while “tourism promote” also has a subject–verb agreement error. In “people start following that culture,” the tense does not fit smoothly with the past-time example, and “a global recognization” has an article and noun-form problem. Some sentences also join ideas awkwardly, such as “Thus, Tourist spend …, similarly want to experience …”. Practise accurate complex sentences and review agreement, tense consistency, and sentence boundaries.
