Student answer (Band 6.0)

Tourism contributes in greater excess to any country economy. For every country tourism plays a crucial role for local businesses also. But many people are concerned about the damage done to the environment and local culture can not be ignored. I strongly agreed to this point of view. For every country their culture is important and have a great value. Culture is the symbol of representation of country in the world.

Today tourism gain excessive importance because now people prefer to travel different countries and explore the different countries culture, tradition, food and many other things. Because of this reason the tourism spots get famous like in Pakistan Hunza and Sawat are very famous because of its magnificent view of nature. Natural rivers, mountains, weather, local culture, tradition and food. People visit these places but at the same time makes alot of pollution like garbage on the sides of river which can pollute the river. More over do parties and make a lot of noise which disturb local people. Some times they disrespect the people there and their culture.

For the business purpose people cut down trees and mountains to build hotels and restaurants. Animal habitat is also disturbed. People change their way of living according to tourist culture.

Although tourism plays important role and helps economy alot but we should not ignore its harmful effect on nature and local culture. Government should make strict rules and regulation for the protection of environment. Government should make policies for the tourist also. We should stop massive tourism and allow limited tourist visit to specific places.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear: you strongly agree that tourism’s harms should not be ignored, and you address both environmental damage and effects on local culture. The examples of litter near rivers, noise disturbing residents, and construction affecting animal habitats are relevant and help explain your view. This meets the task well, with some elements showing the fuller development expected at the next level. However, the economic benefit mentioned in the introduction is not explored, and the claim that people change their way of living is left unexplained. Develop these points with a specific cause-and-effect explanation or example, and clarify how your proposed limits on tourism could protect communities while retaining economic benefits.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph about tourism’s effects, and a concluding recommendation. Ideas generally progress from tourism’s popularity to environmental and cultural consequences, so the reader can follow the main argument. However, some links are mechanical or unclear. For example, “Because of this reason” and “More over” connect ideas, but the relationship between the tourism examples and the claims that follow is not always smoothly expressed. The sentence “Natural rivers, mountains, weather, local culture, tradition and food” is a fragment that interrupts the flow. Group related effects into clearer paragraphs and use referencing such as “these visitors” or “such development” to make connections more precise.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “local culture,” “pollution,” “animal habitat,” and “protection of environment,” which allows you to discuss the main issues. There are also attempts at more specific description, such as “magnificent view of nature.” However, word choice and collocation are often inaccurate or repetitive, as in “contributes in greater excess,” “tourism spots,” and “plays important role.” Some phrases are vague, including “many other things,” and spelling or form errors such as “alot” and “Sawat” reduce polish. Aim for more natural combinations and precise terms for impacts and policies; this would make the argument clearer and show more flexible control of vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrastive opening with “But” and a conditional-style recommendation about limiting visitors. The main message is usually understandable, but errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction are frequent enough to affect fluency. Examples include “I strongly agreed” where the present position calls for “agree,” “tourism gain” instead of “tourism gains,” and “For every country their culture is important and have a great value,” which has unclear agreement and structure. The list beginning “Natural rivers…” is not a complete sentence, and some punctuation creates awkward run-ons. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and complete sentences before adding more complex structures.
