Student answer (Band 5.0)
Tourism is accounted as one of the significant growing industries, which is currently booming around the world as it continues to contribute towards the economical growth of the country over the years despite, the damage caused by the tourism towards the local cultrue and environment which gets covered by the benefits of this sector. I strongly agree with this essay, as in today's world tourism is one of the evergreen sector which has made great connections between countries in terms of trades and settlements. This essay will cover the benefits of tourism.
There are many reasons why, the negative effects of tourism is hindered by its benefits firstly, through tourism the conflicts and barried involving the trade and policied has been significantly reduced over the years and certainly there is now strong bond between countries regarding economical growth. For an example, There was huge conflict between Russia and America back in 1940's because of political issues but later when tourism began, the conflicts between countries settled and now they have strong growth interms of trades, social as well as environmental advantages for both local and global scales.
Moreover, through tourism many of the local business stared growing, which also led to new job creation for the locals toursim acts as an bread and butter for the locals.Secondly, the development of public infrastructure, tourists spending helps fund public infrastructure including airports, railway stations, public facilities, schools and healthcare systems. These developments only became possible because of the tourism.
In conclusion, tourism has always been beneficial for the global as well as local market it made easy for the people to survive by introducing job creation which led to poverty alleviation for the local communities also it led to foreign exchanges and GDP contribution for the country.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
Your position is stated clearly in the introduction (“I strongly agree”), and you give relevant points about employment, local businesses, infrastructure and economic benefits. However, the task asks whether damage to local cultures and the environment is often ignored, while your essay mainly explains tourism’s advantages and does not examine that damage or explain why it is overlooked. The Russia–America example is also asserted rather than convincingly connected to tourism, and the claim that tourism settled their conflicts needs support. As a result, the response addresses the issue only partially and its main ideas remain under-developed. To strengthen it, discuss specific cultural or environmental harms and explain how they compare with the economic benefits before reaching a balanced conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and the ideas generally relate to tourism’s effects. Some progression is visible, moving from international relations to local employment and infrastructure. However, the argument does not develop in a clear sequence: the first body paragraph combines trade, political conflict and environmental advantages, while the second shifts abruptly from jobs to public services. Linking phrases such as “firstly” and “Secondly” are used mechanically, and the conclusion mostly repeats benefits rather than drawing together the argument. Several sentences also run together, making relationships between points harder to follow. Give each paragraph one main purpose, use clearer links between claims and examples, and ensure the conclusion answers the question directly.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “public infrastructure,” “poverty alleviation,” “GDP contribution” and “foreign exchanges,” which helps communicate the economic focus. There are also attempts at less common expressions, but inaccurate word choice, collocation and spelling are noticeable: “accounted as,” “evergreen sector,” “bread and butter,” and “barried involving the trade” are unclear or unnatural in context. Errors such as “cultrue,” “policied” and “toursim” further reduce precision. The vocabulary is sufficient to convey the general topic, but repeated reliance on broad terms such as “benefits” and “growth” limits precision. Choose established collocations and use specific terms for cultural and environmental impacts, such as “damage to local traditions” or “pressure on natural habitats.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a relative clause in the opening and a reason clause beginning “because of political issues.” However, complex sentences are often difficult to control, and frequent errors affect clarity. For example, “There are many reasons why, the negative effects … is hindered” has faulty punctuation and subject–verb agreement; “tourism acts as an bread and butter for the locals.Secondly” contains an article error and an incorrectly joined sentence. The opening sentence also has an unclear structure, and commas are often misplaced or missing. Work on building shorter, complete sentences first, then add subordinate clauses carefully. Check agreement, articles, sentence boundaries and punctuation during revision.
