Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5
You mention relevant benefits of tourism, including jobs, small businesses, shopping and visitors’ interest in local food and places. However, the task asks whether you agree that tourism’s harm to local cultures and the environment is often ignored. Your statement, “i greatly agree,” is not clearly connected to that claim: most of the response describes positive effects, and you do not explain or give examples of cultural or environmental damage. The personal anecdote about meeting a visitor is also difficult to follow and does not sufficiently support your position. The response is below the required 250 words, so it does not meet the task’s length requirement. To improve, state your view on the harms directly and develop reasons and examples on both the benefits and costs of tourism.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
There is a basic attempt to organise the response into separate paragraphs, and the ideas about employment and a visitor’s experience provide some relevant content. However, the progression is difficult to follow: the opening lists tourism benefits, the next paragraph shifts to hospitality, and the final paragraph introduces an anecdote without clearly linking it to the question. Connections between sentences are often missing, while repeated references such as “tourism” and “they” do not always make clear who or what is meant. For example, the sequence about meeting a famous person and that person starting a business is hard to interpret. Use a clear introduction, one main idea per body paragraph, and a conclusion; connect each example explicitly to your argument.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “economy,” “local people,” “hospitality,” “mountains,” and “business.” These choices show some ability to discuss tourism and its effects. However, spelling errors and inaccurate or repetitive word choices frequently make the message harder to understand, as in “industies,” “resutrent,” “busniuss,” and “competion.” Phrases such as “improve our economy” and “better improve the visiting places” are also imprecise or unnatural in context. Build a reliable set of topic vocabulary and check spelling, word forms, and collocations. For instance, distinguish between “tourists,” the visitors, and “tourism,” the industry, and use precise terms for environmental and cultural impacts.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You make an effort to express several connected ideas, and some basic sentence patterns are recognisable. However, sentence boundaries and grammatical relationships are often unclear, as in “tourism come our country to visit differnt places .go to shopping,” where the subject and verbs are not formed into a complete, controlled sentence. There are recurring problems with verb forms and agreement (“tourism come,” “they contribute”), articles, and sentence punctuation. The anecdote also shifts between past and present forms, making its sequence difficult to follow. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then join them with conjunctions such as “because” and “although.” Check that each sentence has a clear subject and correctly formed verb.
