Student answer (Band 5.5)

In the modern world, toursim is becoming one of the most emerging industry and play significant role in the driven of economy around the world. However, the way toursim threaten local cultures and the environment is often ignored.I firmly agree with this view.

To begin with, without any doubt toursim is playing a central role in the economy of any country and provide multitudes of job opportunities in the hotel industry. However, it significantly destroy local cultures and countries pays in terms of economical damage. People often visits to explore different local cultures in different regions of the world but local communities inspired by their way of living and try to adopt their culture and loss their social identity.

In addition to this, during travelling the consumption of the fossil fuel increases, which leads to the production of carbon dioxide in the atomsphere. Excessive carbon leads to air pollution and global warming. For example, In 2020 Pakistan declared as the best toursim destination of the world and welcomed thousands of tourists but after three year Pakistan faces the catastrophic effects of the environmental degradation in terms of terrible flood, and hundreds of people lost their lives and investment. Furthermore, when tourists visits they tends to spread litter at the natural destination and it destroys the natural beauty and charm of the landscapes.

To conclude, toursim is necessary for the economic growth of the country and creates exciting job related opportunities. But in order to protect local culture and environmet everyone should be on same page. Governments should make policies with the local communities and every one come forward to follow the instructions.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear from the introduction: “I firmly agree,” and you address both local culture and environmental damage while acknowledging tourism’s economic benefits. The discussion of cultural identity and the effects of travel-related emissions is relevant, and the Pakistan example gives the environmental point some support. However, the cultural argument is less fully explained: clarify how tourism specifically leads residents to adopt visitors’ lifestyles, and support this claim with a concrete example. The Pakistan example also needs a clearer link between tourism and the floods; as written, it suggests a connection without demonstrating one. Develop these points more carefully and explain your degree of agreement consistently to make the response more complete and convincing. The required length is met; eight words copied from the task prompt were not counted.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs covering cultural and environmental effects, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “To begin with,” “In addition to this,” and “To conclude” help readers follow the main stages. Within paragraphs, however, some links between claims are abrupt or unclear. For example, the move from tourists’ interest in local cultures to communities losing their social identity needs an explicit explanation. The Pakistan example also shifts from tourism to floods without showing the connection. Some transitions feel formulaic, and punctuation occasionally runs ideas together, as in “ignored.I firmly agree.” Use clearer links between cause and effect and connect each example directly to the point it supports.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “local cultures,” “fossil fuel,” “carbon dioxide,” “environmental degradation,” and “social identity.” These choices help communicate the main concerns and show attempts to use more specific language. However, several spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision, including “toursim,” “atomsphere,” and “environmet.” Some combinations are also unnatural, such as “one of the most emerging industry,” “in the driven of economy,” and “carbon leads to air pollution.” Aim for accurate collocations and forms rather than relying on broad or awkward phrases. More precise wording for the relationship between tourism and environmental harm would also make the argument clearer and more convincing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a relative clause in “consumption of the fossil fuel increases, which leads to the production of carbon dioxide” and a conditional recommendation in the conclusion. Meaning is generally understandable, but errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence boundaries occur across the response. For example, “tourism … play” and “it significantly destroy” need singular verb forms, while “People often visits” and “when tourists visits they tends” contain agreement errors. The sentence beginning “People often visits” also has an unclear structure. Review subject–verb agreement and article use, and punctuate sentence boundaries carefully. Building more accurate complex sentences will improve control without sacrificing the range you are attempting.
