Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays, tourism has become one the most fatest growing industries and it contributes significantly to economies around the world. It is often argued that tourism can cause damage to local cultures and causes damage to the environment which is often ignored . I partially agree with this view. Although, tourism can causes damage to culture and environment by spreading false information and can damage the property , it can promote cultural exchange and growth, and promotes the international trade which can contributes significantly in the economic growth among the countries and around the world.
Many tourist visit countries to experience cultural diversity. For instance, tourist visits historical places and learn about its history. They try local foods and explore their traditional beliefs As a result, they understand different cultures and traditions of inhabitants. Therefore, this cultural exchange can strengthen the mutual relationship among the countries.
Moreover, It promotes economic growth among countries. It will promote international trade and different programmes that will benefit both nations. For examples, Joint trading schemes and infrastrustures and research can be promoted by it. It can promote international exchange programmes for students. Thus, tourism brings significant benefits to economies around the world.
In contrast, some tourist can spread false information through online platforms , which can negatively impact the country and its economy around the world. Some tourist can damage the environment by pollution and by destorying public and the government properties that should not be ignored.
In conclusion, Although toursim has brings some drawbacks, it contributes considerably in the economic growth of the countries in terms of creating a safe, healthier and productive country.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is that you partially agree, and you give relevant points about cultural exchange, economic benefits, misinformation and environmental damage. The examples of visitors learning about local history and trying local food help explain the cultural benefit. However, the response gives much more space to tourism’s advantages than to the damage highlighted in the question. The claims about false information and pollution are brief and are not supported with a specific example or explanation of their effects on local culture and the environment. The conclusion also focuses on economic growth rather than restating a balanced view of both sides. Develop the drawbacks more fully and make your degree of agreement clear throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, paragraphs on benefits and drawbacks, and a conclusion. Linking expressions such as “For instance,” “As a result,” and “In contrast” help signal relationships between ideas. However, progression is uneven: the two benefit paragraphs are developed at length, while the paragraph on harm is short and contains several points without explaining how they connect. Some links are mechanical or repetitive, particularly repeated uses of “Moreover,” “Therefore,” and “Thus.” Referencing can also be unclear, as in “it” in the discussion of international trade and programmes. Organise each paragraph around one main claim, clarify what pronouns refer to, and use linking phrases only where they express a precise relationship.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “cultural diversity,” “traditional beliefs,” “mutual relationship,” and “international trade,” which helps communicate the main ideas. However, the range is limited by repeated general words such as “promote,” “damage,” and “countries,” and several word-choice or spelling errors reduce precision. Examples include “fatest,” “infrastrustures,” “destorying,” and “toursim.” Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “the economic growth among the countries” and “creating a safe, healthier and productive country.” Aim for more precise collocations and check spelling carefully. For example, describe tourism as “supporting economic development” or “putting pressure on local ecosystems,” rather than relying on repeated broad terms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a concession in “Although tourism…” and cause-and-effect structures such as “As a result.” These attempts show some range, but complex sentences are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make parts of the response difficult to follow. Examples include “one the most,” “tourism can causes,” “which can contributes,” and “Although toursim has brings.” There are also problems with subject–verb agreement and singular/plural forms, as in “Many tourist visit” and “some tourist can.” Punctuation is inconsistent, with missing sentence-ending punctuation and spaces before commas or full stops. Practise accurate verb forms and agreement, then proofread each sentence for a clear subject and complete structure.
