Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

Your position is stated as “I totally agree,” but the essay does not clearly respond to the central concern: whether tourism’s damage to local cultures and the environment is often ignored. Most of the discussion instead argues that tourism benefits the economy, and the claim that declining tourism would threaten culture and the environment is not explained. The examples of monuments, parks and zoos support tourism’s economic value, but do not show how tourism affects local communities or nature. The conclusion also repeats the economic point without resolving the issue in the prompt. To strengthen the response, address both cultural and environmental impacts directly, explain why they may be overlooked, and support your position with relevant examples and reasoning.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has an introduction, a body paragraph and a conclusion, and signposts such as “Firstly,” “Additionally” and “In conclusion” make the basic structure visible. However, the ideas do not progress clearly from the question to the supporting points: the essay shifts from tourism’s economic benefits to the consequences of tourism declining, without explaining the connection to ignored damage. Some linking is mechanical, and repeated references to “in this regard” and “in this way” do not clarify relationships between claims. The conclusion introduces no clear synthesis. Organise the body around distinct points relevant to the prompt, use linking phrases to show cause and contrast, and make each paragraph’s main idea explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “tourism industry,” “local cultures,” “environment,” “infrastructure” and “historical places,” so the reader can identify the general subject. However, the range is limited and several phrases are repetitive or imprecise, such as “increase rate of income” and “great loss to the economy of country.” There are also noticeable spelling and word-form errors, including “opportunitries,” “indutry,” “icrease” and “eill,” which reduce accuracy and can interrupt reading. Aim for more precise language about the task’s key issues, such as cultural preservation, environmental damage and local communities, and check spelling and natural word combinations carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a conditional structure beginning “If rate of tourism decline,” and use some subordinate clauses. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make parts of the argument difficult to follow. Examples include “it should be promoted to tourism industry,” “it also increase,” and “the following essay will discussed,” which show problems with verb forms, agreement and sentence construction. Articles and punctuation are also inconsistent, as in “economy of the world” and the comma after “If.” Practise building accurate sentences with clear subjects and verbs, and check agreement, tense, articles and punctuation before adding more complex clauses.
