Student answer (Band 5.5)

In this cutting-edge era tourism is becoming very popular because individuals want to explore cultural heritage of the society. It is generally believed that tourism is more growing industry while on the ootherside some people. think that it will damage the historical property of the society. I partially diagree with the statement and this essay will elaborate my viewpoints in the upcoming paragraphs along with the appropriate conclusion.

To begin with, there are tremendous reasons why tourism is crucial. The first and foremost cause is that it keeps country more economically benefitted. To explain it, when visitors arrive in India to explore traditional methods and things that are often use in India they spend more money on it. For example, whenever explorers visit different forts, palaces and historical buildings they spend more income on these places. As a result, poverty will soon demolished in India if regular coming of visitors will maintained.

Turning to another side, from the perspective of the damage cause by visitors. To explicate, upper administrations need to take the responsibility that preserved cultural things should not be shown to the visitors as they cause damage to those original things. Admittedly, clicking of photos should not be allowed at historical places to keep them safe. For instance, one survey is conducted recently and researchers clear the point that more problems develop at cultural places because of tourists. Consequently, it creates adverse impact on all over the society.

In conclusion, tourism is also equally important for the growth of the country as it the main way to reduce poverty. However, tourism is important for the positive human development.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You take a partial position in the introduction, saying, “I partially disagree,” and you recognise both tourism’s economic benefits and its potential harm to cultural sites. These points are relevant, but the response does not fully explain the extent of your agreement: the conclusion mainly repeats that tourism is important and does not clarify how you weigh its benefits against the damage. The economic argument is also under-developed; the claim that poverty will be eliminated through visitors’ spending is broad and not convincingly supported. Similarly, the discussion of cultural harm focuses on restricting access and photography, with little explanation of environmental damage, which is part of the prompt. Develop specific examples and make your position consistent throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting different aspects, and a conclusion. Paragraph openings such as “To begin with” and “Turning to another side” help signal the shift in focus. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow because explanations and examples do not always connect clearly. For instance, the claim that visitors’ spending will reduce poverty is followed by a general statement rather than a developed link. Some transitions feel mechanical, and the conclusion does not clearly resolve the contrast established in the body. Use topic sentences that state each paragraph’s main point, then explain and illustrate it in a logical sequence, with clearer links between claims and examples.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “cultural heritage,” “historical buildings,” “preserved cultural things,” and “adverse impact.” This gives the response some relevant language for discussing tourism and its effects. However, word choice and collocation are often inaccurate or unnatural, as in “more growing industry,” “spend more income,” and “poverty will soon demolished.” There are also spelling errors, including “ootherside” and “diagree,” and some phrases are vague, such as “traditional methods and things.” These issues can make parts of the argument harder to understand. Aim for precise, natural combinations—for example, describe tourism as a “rapidly growing industry” and say visitors “spend money at local businesses.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You use both simple statements and attempts at longer sentences, including a conditional structure in “if regular coming of visitors will maintained.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to affect clarity. Examples include “tourism is more growing industry,” “the damage cause by visitors,” and “as it the main way,” where sentence structure or verb forms are incomplete or incorrect. Articles, agreement, and tense also need attention, as in “a survey is conducted recently” and “poverty will soon demolished.” Punctuation is inconsistent, with unnecessary spaces and a full stop interrupting “some people. think.” Practise building accurate clauses first, then combine them using conjunctions and check verb forms and sentence boundaries.
