Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0
You state a clear position in the final sentence: “i completely agree,” and the opening identifies the issue of tourism’s effects on culture and the environment. However, the response does not develop this position or address both areas of damage with reasons and examples. The note about Western culture influencing local people is relevant, but it is only a brief idea and is not explained; environmental damage is not discussed. The response also contains planning notes rather than a complete essay, so the task is addressed only minimally. The required minimum of 250 words is not met. To improve, write a full response with a clear argument, developed examples, and discussion of both cultural and environmental impacts.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.0
There is a basic attempt to organise the response: you provide a topic note, an idea about cultural influence, and then an opening statement that gives your position. The phrase “Although tourism has great impacts on economies…” also signals a contrast with the damage. However, these parts do not form a connected essay, and there is no clear progression from a main point to explanation or evidence. The planning labels interrupt the flow, while the final sentence ends before the argument is developed. To improve, remove drafting notes, use separate paragraphs for your main points, and connect each claim to an explanation and example with clear referencing.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You attempt some topic-related vocabulary, including “economies,” “western culture,” and “contributions,” which shows awareness of language relevant to tourism and its effects. However, the range is very limited in this short response, and several spelling errors make the writing less clear, such as “tpourism,” “calture,” “infulance,” and “industires.” Some expressions are also imprecise: “great impacts on economies” and “damage is often ignored which is cause by tourism” do not sound natural or clearly express the intended meaning. Build a small set of accurate topic collocations, such as “boost local economies,” “erode cultural traditions,” and “damage natural habitats,” and check spelling carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt a complex opening with “Although tourism has great impacts on economies … but damages cause by it often ignored,” showing an effort to express contrast. However, the sentence is not controlled: using “although” and “but” together creates a faulty structure, and the clause about damage is missing a clear verb form. In “it one of the fastest growing industries,” the verb “is” is omitted; “Regarding my opinion” also does not form a natural grammatical construction. The response offers little evidence of accurate sentence variety, partly because it ends before ideas are developed. Practise complete clauses, subject–verb agreement, and contrast structures, for example: “Although tourism supports economies, it can also harm local cultures and environments.”
