Student answer (Band 5.5)
The economy of most of the countries has been grown due to the tourism. This has proven to be one of the largest growing industry across the world , although sometimes it put local environemnt and cultures at stake.I largely agree that uncontrolled tourism can cause damaging effects to locals and most of the time governments are reluctant to compensate the damage tourism cause to locals. This essay will discuss what parameters government can take into consideration to entertain locals.
Uncontrolled tourism can cause detrimental effects to local residents yet its contribution to country's economy is not deniable. Tourists like to visit different places , and to capture their memories, but sometimes they do not respect the privacy of people living in those areas and the culture or norms. Mostly governments do not protect the privacy of its citizens as they do not enforce any law or regulations for tourist to follow the protocols so that privacy can be maintained. Additionally a clear and strict set of instructon must be given to tourist about the culture and norms of country before giving them visa.
Tourism helps grow the economy of a country and helps to gain financial opportunities for locals as well. Sometimes tourists also pollute the environment where they visit and leave unclean spaces after their departure which cause pollution problems. But governments do not pay attention to the pollution caused by excessive and uncontrolled tourism, as a result mostly locals are compell to mend things and environment on their own.
Around the world, alot of countries' economy has been improved by the tourism but government's negligence towards local's problem is not appreciable. I largely agree that tourism cause problem to local environment, provided that issues left unsolved by government.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear: you “largely agree” that tourism can harm local environments and cultures, and you give relevant examples involving privacy, cultural norms, and pollution. However, the response only partly develops the task. The discussion focuses heavily on government negligence and what authorities should do, rather than fully explaining how tourism itself damages local cultures and the environment. The cultural impact is mainly described as visitors failing to respect privacy or norms, while the environmental point is limited to litter and pollution. Develop each effect with a specific example and explain its consequences for residents. Your conclusion repeats your position but does not add a clear, fully supported summary of the argument.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and the ideas are generally grouped by topic. Linking expressions such as “Additionally” and “as a result” help show relationships between points. However, progression is limited because the essay repeatedly returns to government inaction without clearly building a broader argument. Some connections are also unclear: “This essay will discuss what parameters government can take into consideration to entertain locals” promises a discussion that the body does not clearly deliver. The final sentence, “provided that issues left unsolved by government,” is difficult to connect logically to the stated agreement. Use clearer topic sentences and ensure each paragraph develops one main point in sequence.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “uncontrolled tourism,” “privacy,” “pollute the environment,” and “financial opportunities.” There are also attempts at more formal wording, such as “detrimental effects” and “contribution.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or awkward, which sometimes makes the meaning less clear. For example, “entertain locals” does not express the intended idea of protecting or supporting residents, and “mend things and environment” is imprecise. Spelling errors such as “environemnt,” “instructon,” and “alot” are noticeable. Aim for precise, natural phrases and check spelling carefully; avoid repeating “locals” and “government” where more specific alternatives are available.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “although,” “as,” and “so that,” and the overall meaning is usually understandable. However, errors occur frequently in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction. For instance, “has been grown” should be “has grown,” while “it put” and “tourism cause” need appropriate verb forms. In “one of the largest growing industry,” the noun phrase also needs correct number and structure. Some long sentences combine several ideas without clear punctuation, making them harder to follow. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and verb forms, and build complex sentences around one clear main clause. Proofreading for articles and plural forms would also improve control.
