Student answer (Band 6.0)
Tourism is one of the most important sector of a country which has been emerged with quick time and showed significant contribution in revenue generation. Economy is largely rely on this in many countries. Despite being a crucial site, tourism causes adverse effect on native culture and climate which can not be avoided.
Tourism results in a great source of revenue around the world, which is an universally true fact. People across all over the world travels a lot to different countries which enables employment and increase thousand types of business. In fact, economy of many countries largely rely on tourism. For example- Thailand, Sri Lanka, Philippine, Indonesia generate around 70% income from tourism out of their total national economy. In recent time, Sri Lanka's economy has come back to life with the help of tourism business after the extreme financial downfall due to political reason.
Despite being an essential source of financial outcome, tourism occurs plenty of pollutions which is not suitable for particular environment. For example- Cox bazar sea beach is one of the most renown place to visit. Tourists are polluted the spot by throwing waste, food packets and empty bottle which causes serious air contamination results in environmental pollution and injuries to local inhabitants. Furthermore, tourism discourages to promote social culture of native place. People visited many places all the season of a year which restricts local people to illustrate their root and social identity. But this factors are often ignored by local authorities which is not justified. Necessary steps should be taken to mitigate the adverse effect caused by the tourist.
Tourism is such a profitable sector for governments of any particular country. Though it brings substantial revenue, its damaging fact should not be undermined by governments and local authorities. There should be some restrictions and penalties for tourist those who commit any deliberate offence related to pollution. Thus a better environmental pollution free tourism business can be ensured. Furthermore, local communities should promote their culture and socialism among tourist to widen their identity.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear: tourism brings economic benefits, but its effects on culture and the environment should not be ignored. You address both sides of the prompt and support the economic point with examples such as Sri Lanka and the environmental point with Cox’s Bazar. The proposed penalties and promotion of local culture also give the essay a relevant conclusion. Some ideas, however, are less fully developed than others. The claim that tourism restricts residents from expressing their identity is not explained with a specific mechanism or example, and the country income statistic is presented without clarification. To strengthen the response, explain how tourism changes local customs or places pressure on natural resources, and make the extent of your agreement more explicit in the introduction and conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay has a coherent overall structure: an introduction, paragraphs on economic benefits and negative effects, and a concluding set of recommendations. The progression from benefits to harms is easy to follow, and linking expressions such as “Despite” and “Furthermore” help signal relationships between ideas. Some connections are nevertheless mechanical or unclear. For example, “Despite being an essential source of financial outcome” does not clearly connect the economic point to the pollution claim, while “But this factors” has an unclear reference. The final paragraph also introduces recommendations without clearly tying each one back to the earlier examples. Use more precise referencing and transitions, and organise the environmental and cultural impacts so each is developed in a distinct, clearly linked sequence.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “revenue generation,” “financial downfall,” “environmental pollution,” and “mitigate,” which helps communicate the main ideas. However, inaccurate word choice and collocation are noticeable and sometimes make the meaning less natural, as in “quick time,” “financial outcome,” “tourism occurs plenty of pollutions,” and “promote their culture and socialism.” Some expressions are also imprecise, such as “damaging fact” and “essential source.” These issues keep the vocabulary from being consistently clear and appropriately controlled. Build a bank of natural collocations for tourism and its impacts, and check whether each noun and verb combination is idiomatic. Prefer precise terms such as “rapidly expanded,” “source of income,” and “environmental damage.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “which,” “Despite,” and “Though,” and the overall meaning is generally understandable. Some grammatical errors remain across the response. For example, “one of the most important sector” has a number-agreement error, “Economy is largely rely” has an incorrect verb construction, and “People … travels” does not agree in number. There are also errors in articles and sentence structure, as in “a universally true fact” and “Tourists are polluted the spot.” These do not usually prevent understanding, but they reduce accuracy and control. Review subject–verb agreement, verb forms, and article use, then proofread each sentence to ensure that complex clauses have a complete and correctly formed main clause.
