Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response identifies some main features, such as the general trend that men hold more licenses than women. However, the report lacks a clear overview and fails to effectively highlight the most significant trends or make meaningful comparisons. The data presentation is repetitive and lacks analytical depth, as it simply lists figures for each age group without synthesizing the information. The description of the age groups is also imprecise (e.g., 'around somehere between seventeen to twenty'). To improve, you should group data points logically and focus on the overall trends rather than listing every data point individually.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The response is written as a single paragraph, which makes it difficult to follow. There is a lack of logical progression, and the use of cohesive devices is very limited and repetitive. Phrases like 'on the other hand' are used, but the overall structure feels mechanical and disjointed. To improve, you should organize your response into clear paragraphs: an introduction, an overview of the main trends, and two body paragraphs focusing on specific comparisons. Using a wider range of linking words such as 'whereas', 'in contrast', and 'consequently' would help improve the flow of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive. You frequently use the same phrases, such as 'having license' and 'holding permit', throughout the text. There is little evidence of less common lexical items or precise terminology related to data description. The phrasing 'around somehere' is informal and inaccurate. To reach a higher band, try to vary your vocabulary by using synonyms and more precise descriptors for trends, such as 'proportion', 'percentage', 'fluctuate', 'peak', or 'decline'. Avoid repeating the same sentence structures and vocabulary choices in every sentence.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response relies heavily on simple sentence structures, and there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. For example, 'The percentage of men and women whose ages are around somehere between seventeen to twenty are carrying complete driving license' is grammatically awkward and lacks proper subject-verb agreement. There are also issues with article usage and prepositional phrases. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and ensure that your subjects and verbs agree. Incorporating more complex sentence structures, such as relative clauses or comparative constructions, would also help demonstrate a wider grammatical range.
