Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response attempts to address the task by summarizing the provided graphs. However, the information is presented in a fragmented and often inaccurate manner. While you identify some trends, such as the general increase in license holders between 1975/76 and 2006, the data points cited are frequently confusing or incorrect (e.g., stating 'above 80% people got licences' for age groups where the graph shows lower figures). The overview is present but lacks clarity. To improve, focus on selecting the most significant trends rather than listing individual data points, and ensure that the figures you report accurately reflect the visual information provided in the charts.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression of ideas is weak. The use of cohesive devices is limited and often repetitive (e.g., 'In 2006', 'In 1975/76'). There is a lack of linking words to connect ideas smoothly, making the text feel like a series of disjointed sentences rather than a cohesive report. The referencing is also unclear at times, making it difficult for the reader to follow the comparison between the two years and the two genders. Improving the use of transition signals and ensuring each paragraph has a clear focus would significantly enhance the readability of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive, relying heavily on the word 'propagation' and 'licences'. The word 'propagation' is used incorrectly here; it refers to the breeding of plants or the transmission of waves, not the percentage of people holding a license. You should use terms like 'proportion', 'percentage', or 'rate'. Additionally, there are several errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'got they licences' instead of 'obtained their licenses'. To reach a higher band, you need to expand your range of vocabulary and use words that are appropriate for describing statistical data.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'The bar chart illustrate'), missing articles, and incorrect sentence structures (e.g., 'In 2006 male are high propagation to got they licences'). The use of punctuation is also inconsistent, with several run-on sentences and missing spaces after periods. While you attempt to use some complex ideas, the lack of control over basic grammar makes the writing difficult to follow. Focus on mastering simple sentence structures first, ensuring correct verb forms and word order, before attempting more complex grammatical constructions.
