Overall, the percentage of full car driving licences holders were highest in men and women in 2006. In General, Men holded the highest proportion with full driving licences older women recorded lowest in the 1975/76.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the task by identifying key trends and making comparisons between the two years. However, the analysis is somewhat inconsistent. While you correctly identify that licence holding increased by 2006, the description of specific age groups is occasionally confusing or inaccurate (e.g., the claim that men over 70 were 'more appropriate' with 60% is unclear). The overview is present but lacks clarity in its phrasing. To improve, ensure that data points are cited more precisely and that the comparison between the two time periods is structured more logically to highlight the most significant changes.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the flow of ideas is often hindered by awkward transitions and repetitive phrasing. Cohesive devices are used, but they are sometimes mechanical or misused (e.g., 'In General, Men holded...'). The referencing is occasionally unclear, making it difficult to track which age group or gender is being discussed. Improving the use of linking words such as 'conversely', 'in contrast', or 'furthermore' would help create a more professional and logical progression of information.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision required for a higher band. There are several instances of word-choice errors or non-standard collocations, such as 'more appropriate with proportion' and 'counted lower'. You rely on basic descriptors and struggle to use more sophisticated terminology to describe trends (e.g., 'significant proportion' or 'greatest percentage'). To reach a higher band, focus on using more varied and accurate vocabulary to describe data, such as 'a substantial increase', 'a downward trend', or 'the peak figure'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. There are issues with verb tense consistency (e.g., 'Men and Women holde', 'Men holded'), subject-verb agreement, and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or lack proper grammatical control, such as 'Age with more than 70, men were more appropriate'. While you attempt some complex structures, they are often faulty. Focusing on basic sentence construction and ensuring consistent verb tenses throughout the report will significantly improve the accuracy and readability of your writing.
