Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to accurately interpret the data provided. The student confuses the age groups with birth years (e.g., 'boys born in 2006'), which is a fundamental misreading of the graph's axes. Furthermore, the report is highly repetitive, listing data points without synthesizing them into meaningful trends or comparisons. The overview is ineffective, as it merely restates the prompt rather than highlighting the main features of the data. Because the information presented is factually incorrect based on the provided graph and lacks a clear summary of trends, it does not meet the requirements for a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The essay lacks logical progression. The information is presented as a disjointed list of statistics rather than a coherent report. Paragraphing is used, but the content within the paragraphs is repetitive and lacks clear topic sentences. Cohesive devices are used in a very mechanical and often incorrect way (e.g., 'And the most elder people...'). There is significant repetition of phrases like 'The percentage of complete driving licence is shown in this paragraph', which disrupts the flow of the text and makes the writing difficult to follow.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

The vocabulary is very limited and repetitive. The student relies heavily on basic phrasing such as 'the percentage of' and 'the people who have'. There is a lack of variety in reporting verbs or comparative language. Errors in word choice are frequent, such as using 'boys' and 'womens' inconsistently and misinterpreting the labels on the graph. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to convey the information with precision, and the persistent errors in terminology hinder the clarity of the report.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'the boys... holds licence'), incorrect pluralization (e.g., 'the womens'), and awkward sentence structures. Punctuation is also problematic, with missing spaces after periods and inconsistent capitalization. The student struggles to form complex sentences, and the simple sentences used are often marred by errors in basic grammar. These frequent errors make the text difficult to read and understand.
