Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the ability to fully address the task. While you have identified some main features, the description is incomplete and cuts off mid-sentence at the end. You have attempted to compare males and females, but the analysis lacks the necessary detail and data points to provide a comprehensive summary. To improve, ensure you cover all age groups and time periods mentioned in the graph, and provide a clear, finished overview that synthesizes the trends rather than just listing observations.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the progression of ideas is disjointed. The use of cohesive devices is mechanical and repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'also' and 'by time'. Referencing is often unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the comparison between the different age groups and years. To improve, use a wider range of linking words (e.g., 'in contrast', 'furthermore', 'consequently') and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that guides the reader through the data.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive, relying on basic terms like 'more', 'rise', and 'high'. There are noticeable errors in word choice, such as 'keepers' instead of 'licence holders' and 'securing driving licence' which is slightly unnatural. The range is insufficient to convey the data with precision. To improve, focus on learning topic-specific vocabulary related to graphs, such as 'proportion', 'fluctuation', 'significant increase', and 'demographic', and ensure you use these terms in the correct context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('citizens who holds', 'Females numbers increases', 'Males holds') and incorrect preposition usage ('In the terms of females'). The sentence structures are simple and lack the complexity required for higher bands. While the meaning is generally understandable, the persistent errors in basic grammar and the incomplete nature of the final sentence hinder the overall quality of the writing. Focus on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and refining your sentence structure.
