THE GRAPH ILLUSTRATES THAT THE PROPORTION OF PEOPLE OWNED FULL DRIVING LICENCES IN 1975/76 AND 2006 ACCORDING TO THE AGE AND SEX.

OVERALL, THE PERCENTAGE OF MEN AND WOMAN HOLDING A DRIVING LICENCE ROSE OVER THE ENTIRE PERIOD. MEN HAD A HIGHER RATIO THAN WOMEN ALMOST ALL AGE GROUP. THEIR IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TWO SEX GROUP IN 2006. AMONG MEN HAD THE HIGHEST PROPORTION IN THE OLDER AGE GROUP WHILE WOMAN ARE HIGHEST RATIO IN 2006.

IN 1975/76 AROUND 80% OF MEN 30-39 HELD A FULL DRIVING LICENCE. THE AGE 50-59 APPROXIMATELY 75%.

A SIMILAR TREND HELD ON THE DRIVING LICENCE FOR WOMEN 70 TO 80% IN 1975/76 ONLY 5% OF WOMEN OVER 70 HAD A DRIVING LICENCE. THE PROPORTION OF WOMEN AGED 40-59 ROSE SUBSTANTIALLY AROUND 80-85% IN 2006.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which negatively impacts the score. While you identify some main features, the reporting is inconsistent. You mention 1975/76 and 2006, but the analysis of the data is fragmented and lacks a clear, logical comparison between the two years. Some figures are presented without sufficient context, and the summary of trends is somewhat confusing, particularly the claim about women having the highest ratio in 2006 without specifying the age group. To improve, ensure you provide a clear overview and support all statements with accurate data points from the graph.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. The transition between the introduction, overview, and body paragraphs is abrupt. Cohesive devices are used sparingly and sometimes incorrectly, such as 'IN CONTRAST' at the end, which does not effectively link to the previous points. The referencing is occasionally unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the comparison between age groups and years. Improving the use of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'conversely', 'in comparison') and ensuring each paragraph has a clear focus would significantly enhance the flow of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is somewhat limited and repetitive. You rely on basic terms like 'rose', 'highest', and 'proportion'. There are also errors in word choice and form, such as 'THEIR IS A DIFFERENCE' (should be 'There is') and 'SEX GROUP' (should be 'sex groups'). The phrase 'A SIMILAR TREND HELD ON THE DRIVING LICENCE' is unnatural. To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more precise vocabulary related to data description, such as 'fluctuated', 'remained stable', 'a significant increase', or 'a downward trend', and ensure correct word forms are used.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('WOMAN ARE HIGHEST RATIO'), incorrect verb tenses ('PEOPLE OWNED' instead of 'people holding'), and missing articles. The sentence structures are mostly simple, with few attempts at complex sentences. Punctuation is also inconsistent. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring subject-verb agreement, and using articles correctly. Practicing the use of complex structures, such as relative clauses or subordinating conjunctions, will help you demonstrate a wider grammatical range.
