The graphs below show the percentage of people holding full driving licences in Great Britain by age and sex.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The bar chart compare the percentage of men and women in great britain who held a full car driving licence in 1975/76 and 2000 across different age groups.

overall, the proportion of driving-licence holders increased considerably among both sexes over the period. the most noticeable growth occured among women, while men generally had higher figures than women in 1975/76. by 2000 the gender gap had narrowed substantially.

in 1975/76 approximately 80% of men aged 21-29 held a driving licence, compared with only around 40% of women. among men aged 30-39, 40-49 and 50-59, the figures were also relatively high, at roughly 80%, 85% and 805 respectively. for women, however the corresponding proportions were considerably lower, ranging from about 35% to 55%.

by 2000, the percentage of licence holders had risen for most age group aroung 80-85% of men aged 30-59 possessed a licence, while the figure for women in these group reched approximately 75-80% the biggest increase among women was seen in the older age groups.
