To begin with, We can see that there is a significant increase in the percentage of men and women holding driving licences. In 2006, there are 86% men of age 50-59 having a driving licence which was 75% in 1975/76. On the other hand, 75% women of age 50-59 holding a driving licence which is 25% in 1975/76. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.5

The response attempts to address the task by selecting some data points from the graph, such as the 50-59 age group and the 70 and over group. However, the selection is quite limited and lacks a comprehensive overview of the main trends. Furthermore, there are some inaccuracies in reporting the data; for instance, the student states that in 2006 there were '86% men of age 50-59', whereas the graph shows approximately 92%, and mentions '75% women... which is 25% in 1975/76' where the actual figure for 1975/76 was around 23%. Additionally, some sentences are confusingly phrased, such as 'prominent decrease in the percentage of the year 2006/1975-76'. To reach a higher band, the student needs to provide a clearer overall summary and accurately report key comparative features across multiple age brackets.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the paragraphing and layout descriptions in the opening ('In the left side of the graph. There is the data of women, Men in the right and age in the middle') are awkward and disrupt the flow. While some basic cohesive phrases like 'To begin with', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion' are used, logical progression is frequently hindered by abrupt shifts and mechanical linking. Referencing is sometimes unclear, particularly with dangling pronouns and fragmented sentences such as 'It the lowest percentage recorded ever'. Overall organisation shows an attempt at structure, but the execution results in a choppy and disjointed reading experience.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.5

The vocabulary used is quite basic and repetitive, heavily relying on words like 'percentage', 'people', 'men', and 'women'. There are several word choice and collocation issues, such as 'complete driving licences' instead of 'full driving licences', and 'men of age 50-59' instead of 'men aged 50 to 59'. Spelling and grammatical forms of words also show occasional strain, such as 'Futhermore'. The range is minimally adequate to convey basic data points, but falls short of demonstrating the flexibility or precision required for higher bands.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The student attempts a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but accuracy is low throughout the text. There are numerous grammatical errors, missing verbs, and punctuation faults. Examples include fragment sentences like 'of age over 70.' and 'which is almost 5%. It the lowest percentage recorded ever', as well as subject-verb agreement and tense inconsistencies such as 'there are 86% men... which was 75%'. These frequent errors frequently impede smooth reading and obscure the precise meaning of the comparisons.
