The graphs below show the percentage of people holding full driving licences in Great Britain by age and sex.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Full car driving licence holders: by sex and age

Student answer (Band 5.0)

The illustration gives information about the percentage of people whom holds full driving licences in the UK by age and gender. Overall, the bar graph represented the change in male and female population holding the driving license in the years 1975/76 and 2006 in an increasing and decreasing trend with respect to the age bracket of individuals.

It is quite evident from the bar graphs that total number of the male and female population holding a full driving licence in the Britain in years 1975-76 was 38 and 20 respectively. While in the year 2006 it remained around the same which was a little bit less than 40 for both men and women aged 17-20. Older people who aged from 21-59 made the largest number holding the full licence.

The proportion of the women in past holding the licence remained way less in contrast to the year 2006 for the similar ages. Men in the both times 1975 and 2006 took lead.
