Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The graphs below illustrate the percentage of people holding full driving licences in Great Britain by age and sex.

Overall, it is evident that more men have driving permits compared to women across all the age groups. Additionally, the proportion of both men and women in 2006 was higher than in 1975/76.

In 2006, men aged 39-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60-69 recorded more than 80%. Similarly, women of the same age group recorded a figure above 60% except those aged 40-49 years who nearly approached 80% during the same period. Other age groups accounted for relatively lower proportions. Men aged 21-29 and 70 years and over nearly approached 80%, while those between 17-20 years were slightly below 40%.

In 1975/76, the proportions were relatively lower compared to 2006, with most males accounting for 40% and above apart from those aged between 17-20, and 70 years and above. Similarly, all the age groups of women had values above 20% except those 60-69 and and 70 years and above.
