The graphs below show the percentage of people holding full driving licences in Great Britain by age and sex.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 5.0)

The graph here illustrates the percentage of people holding full driving licenses in Great Britain by age and gender and it is also shows the comparson between year 1975/76 and 2006.

The overview of graph shows the men has upper hand compare to women in both timeline.

The age 17-20 has the smallest value of full driving licenses from both men and women in both timeline which can be justified because at that age you are so young and many of them cannot afford to pay the classes for driving and most parents also do not trust their children to drive at that young age.

From the age 21-29 we can the number increasing from both men and women, in 1975/76 and 2006, almost 76% of men were holding full driving license compared to women which were around 45% in 90's and 60% in 2000's respectively. Similarly from age 30-39, the number also increases as for men it as around 80% for both generation and for women it was 45% and 80% respectively for both timeline.

From the age 40-49, the percantage increases for men from both 90's which were 81% and 2000's which were 83% whereas this time there is dip in women from 1970's as they were only 35% left compared to 2006 where the number almost hits 80% and the process then follows on and on and after the age of 70, there were 30% of men holding the full driving license as compared to 75% in 2006. For women after the age of 70, there were only 10% as compared to 35% which were in 2006.
